Customers say: Quality work

"Brandon showed up on time, was honest and worked quickly to get the job done. He had to remove the molding from one side of the door jam and insert shimmies to straighten out the door jam so the door would shut properly. He also tightened screws to give the door more lift so it wouldn't drag when opened and closed, and replaced the door knob, which I had purchased. I would definitely use him again."

"Our project consisted of removal and replacement of 11 windows and 4 glass sliders with Anlin Catalina vinyl low-E, dual-pane, argon-filled windows and sliders. The owner, Rick Andronicos, was very personable and knowledgeable and answered all our questions satisfactorily. He made several suggestions that helped us decide on which brand and style of windows to get. Then he carefully measured all our windows and immediately came back and gave us an estimate, which was almost exactly where I expected it to be. His large crew was very professional, well-trained, efficient and completed the project in 1 day! We have custom wooden casings (both wood and painted) around the windows on the inside of the house and they installed the new windows seamlessly without damaging any of the inside woodwork. Ricks crew paid extreme attention to detail, did a beautiful job and cleaned up like you never knew they were there. We are extremely pleased with the cost, the professionalism, workmanship, and quality of the results. We recommend United Builders, without any reservations, to anyone wanting to replace their old, inefficient windows with low-E windows."

"I had this problem about 4 months ago, my old windows used to let in a lot of cold during winter and heat in the summer, keeping them clean was always a hassle because of the worn out frames. The material had really reached the end of its life. After the team from Expert Home Builders finished replacing them with the new ones, the difference is amazing!!! The house feels so much more comfortable and daily maintenance is super easy. The windows also look really modern with wooden frames that feel solid and built to last. The installation team was very organized and efficient. I?m left with a really great impression of this company."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Typically every 10-15 years or whenever they show signs of wear and tear.

The best type of window screen for your home depends on your region and your family’s needs. While fiberglass window screens are a popular, affordable, and easy-to-find choice, you may be looking for different benefits, such as a more high-end look, increased strength, or extended durability. The best window screen meets the demands of your home and its residents while staying within your budget.

Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.

Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.

Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.
