"EZY painting did an excellent job. They were reliable, completed the work in less than a week, cleaned up after and worked extremely hard. I don’t even think they took lunch breaks. Highly recommend them."

"My experience with ALR Painting was excellent. Alex was on time everyday and took the utmost care in painting the exterior of my house and my workshop. My house looks amazing. Alex even helped me with my color choices which alleviated a lot of the stress of picking the correct colors. I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family. A++"

"Rick Davis was very personable.  He was prompt returning any phone calls or addressing any color or paint concerns.  He provided our bid for the exterior painting in July before our siding was completed so we planned on scheduling after the siding was completed which was the end of August.  We requested a bid to stain our newly installed back fence the first day his crew came out for the exterior preparation and accepted his proposal.  His crew did a great job preparing the exterior for paint and protecting our new landscaping and concrete.  They completed the entire house in one day and returned the next for minor touch up and to stain the fence.  Rick was very thorough in communication throughout the whole process and our house looks awesome.

"My husband a I recently bought our first home in the summer of 2018. The first improvement on the list was to repaint. All the walls throughout the house and the master bedroom baseboards were painted a very unpleasant brown. Being someone who grew up around construction and worked for a remodeling company I have a good eye for quality work. Custom Applications Painting exceeded my expectations. Our initial consultation was wonderful, they understood my vision, preferences and helped narrow down my color choices. When it came down to getting the job done Custom Applications Painting were quick, efficient and respectful of our space. They even made our deadline before our housewarming party. I had several friends and family members complement the work they had done and some even took pictures. Our house is now a home thanks to Custom Applications Painting. I will be working with them again on our next project!"

"I had two areas of concern: installed new worklights in the garage and replacing electric switches and outlets.  Jerry did a great job taking care of the needed work.  He was friendly, chatty, but stayed on task and finished the necessary assignments.
I also had a dry rot problem; Jerry showed up early, with another worker to assist and got right to work.  He tore down (?) the infected areas, replaced the plywood, a good number of slats, and repaired the base of a support column.  He was sure to do all the finish work (caulking) and sealing where needed.
After he finished, my only 'job' was to apply primer and then paint the new areas.  It turned out looking really good.  I was impressed with the way Jerry got to work, cleaned up when finished, and checked the work he had done to see if it was all to my safisfaction.  It was.
I did think that the work done indoors (the electric work) was a bit high, but then Jerry charged less than expected for the outside work, thus sorta evening out the amount paid.
Overall, I was well pleased and would not hesitate to use Jerry's services again.

"Martis Concepts was recommended by a friend.  We had Martis Concepts paint our master bedroom suite first.  I wanted to test his work on a smaller project.  Our bedroom has 10 foot ceilings a 15 foot inset in the center.  There is a seatee area that has an entry with columns and built in book shelves that cover one wall.  The woodwork turned out beautiful.  The columns and the bookshelf are like they were done at a factory.  He also painted a contract color on the inset ceiling which turned out perfectly.  The paint job is so impressive.
Since I was so happy with the master bedroom I contracted Martis to do the rest of the 2013 project.  Downstairs was the living room, den, dining room, entry and spiral staircase.  Twenty foot ceilings with eight inch crown and six inch floor moldings.  Eight doors, two are paned.  Four columns support the stair landing.  The oak spiral staircase was also painted.  The living room fireplace has built in cabinets that open to a wet bar on one side and TV and Stereo cabinet on the other.  Bookshelves flank both sides of those cabinets.  There was an inset mirror above the fireplace.  Martis removed the mirror and retextured the walls adding a tube to thread electrical wiring to the TV which is now mounted over the fireplace.  Also above the fireplace are two large insets that were painted an accent color.  New fans were installed in every room.
Upstairs were three large bedrooms with walk-in closets, built in desks and bookshelves and each bedroom has a bathroom.  All three rooms were painted as well as all of the woodwork.  Bathroom has new granite installed.  Emanual is a perfectionist and without requesting painted the closets walls the color with all of the shelving white.  They turned out so impressive.  Finally, another staircase leading down to the kitchen was also painted including the railing which was originally oak.
I don't mean to go on and on but I feel a need to outline the complexity of the project.  The cost was very reasonable compared to the amount of work that was required.  Also, we used the highest grade paint and had custom colors created.  The work was excellent.  I am so happy we used Martis Concepts.  One thing that can't go unmentioned, we had a piece of crown molding at the top of the circular wall above the staircase.  The installation was not done properly and it was sagging.  Emanual fixed that and using plaster actually molded over where it was originally pieced together.  It looks like one piece of molding and I can't tell where it was repaired.   Words can't truely explain my pleasure with the job.  We will be remodeling our kitchen next summer and I will certainly ask Martis Conepts to do the work.  I wouldn't think of using anyone else.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.
