I'd describe my personality as attentive and detail oriented \n\nI like caring for homes because helping other people feel comfort in their home brings me joy. \n\nI'm looking for a job that brings me satisfaction day to day, where I can put my head down and get the job done.\n\nI started housekeeping when I was nannying during Covid, in a home with a busy family. I did dishes and deep cleaned their kitchen, bathroom, and other spaces often. I took time to wipe off hand rails, and spend time on the little details too.\n\nIn my spare time, I like to paint, cook, and go hiking occasionally. \n\nOne thing you should know about me is I'm someone who keeps to myself most of the time, but that makes me really efficient.\n\nMy skills include organizing, refined detail cleaning and making maintenance easier.

"Ybarra Professional Builders were exceptionally professional. They communicated all throughout the process to ask what my preferences were. They even went above and beyond to move a few things after the remodel was complete. My bathroom looks amazing and I am extremely pleased with the work they did."

"Mike was called to clear an untimely (let alone super nasty) clog and backup in my home's sewer system around 11:30 PM on a Saturday night. It was a stormy night and he was out quickly to take care of the clearing of the (yuk) debris and digging out of a secondary driveway drain that was filled with other debris left by a construction crew doing some work on my driveway. Mike cleared out the drain area and the overflow area too. 5 stars all the way!!"

Drapery Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The main categories of window coverings are shades, shutters, curtains, drapes, and blinds. However, consumers today have dozens of options within these categories when it comes to everything from materials to the technology behind how window coverings operate.

Yes, professional drape cleaning is often worth the investment. A professional cleaning service can remove accumulated allergens like dust, pollen, and pet dander, which is especially beneficial for households with allergy sufferers or individuals with respiratory issues like asthma. This process also effectively eliminates odors from cooking, pets, and daily life, helping your home look and smell fresh while improving indoor air quality. Furthermore, hiring a professional ensures that the correct cleaning methods are used, preventing damage to the fabric. It is generally recommended to have drapes professionally cleaned every four to five years, with regular light vacuuming in between.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Regarding UV protection for furniture, synthetic fabrics like polyester and acrylic are some of the best choices. They have inherent UV-blocking properties and can withstand prolonged sun exposure better than natural fabrics like cotton or silk. Additionally, outdoor-specific fabrics for patio furniture often include UV-resistant treatments to enhance sun protection. Fabrics like these have become softer and more comfortable, making them suitable for interior spaces like sunrooms and other spaces brimming with natural light.

It’s a good idea to wash curtains every six months or so to avoid allergens from building up in them and to get rid of any odors from cooking, exercising, or pets. You might want to wash your curtains as often as every three months if you have multiple pets, someone in your family is highly allergic to dust or pet dander, or you cook often with aromatic spices or oils. You might consider a standalone cleaning if you get stains on your curtains or they are visibly soiled.
