"Hawkins has now done two whole-house window replacements for us. This second home is a one-of-a-kind designed Mid-Century Modern classic home, and we have been very fussy about how the windows needed to look in order to retain the essential look and style of the old window styles. Hawkins has been able to provide us with really spectacular replacements. Gary Hawkins, the owner, came personally to look at our home and listen to our concerns, and then was able to select the precise windows we asked for. We find them to be reasonably priced and responsive to concerns. Since they have done multiple jobs for us, we know they do a great job of keeping their customers happy and also hit the "budget-friendly" button, too! This project includes replacing 3 sliding glass doors, (one which is 10 feet wide), 18 windows, (3 of which are 8+ feet wide picture windows), 4 floor-to-ceiling fixed tempered windows, and 3 specialty reeded glass windows."

While almost nothing is completely fireproof, metal siding is extremely fire-resistant. Instead of pressure washing, you can clean it with a soft brush or broom to remove loose debris, followed by a mixture of mild soap and water applied with a soft cloth or sponge.

Aluminum is a durable siding material that can last for 30 to 45 years depending on factors like your climate, how well it’s maintained, and the quality of the aluminum. However, the siding’s appearance is likely to deteriorate much faster than its structure, especially if it’s painted, so you should clean it annually and repaint it when it starts to chip to maintain its look. 

If you’re wondering how to make wood siding last longer, including Composite T1-11, inspect it annually or quarterly to spot and repair cracks, holes, or chipped areas. You’ll also want to re-stain the wood every 3 to 5  years or repaint every 7 to 10 years for protection (note that repainting requires stripping and sanding off old paint as well).
