Concrete Floor Coating-Apply

Serving Burney, CA and surrounding areas

"The work performed turned out great. The company lacks a cohesive ability to communicate with their customers in a timely manner. Set-up an appointment with an understanding of a start time which apparently was two and a half hours later than expected. This caused a crunch at the end of the day where they were unable to reset the furniture because the floors were still damp from the work. The guys sent to perform the work were very nice and worked hard all day long. If they figure out how to improve their communication and ensure that the customer knows what is expected and the timing of all the moving parts of the job to be performed I would have given them the benefit of the doubt and a higher rating. Lastly, when they damaged a plug and kitchen cabinet they failed to bring this damage to my attention, not a big deal but should have said something upfront."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

No. You cannot use asphalt products on concrete driveways. To seal a concrete driveway, use acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, silane, siloxane, and silicate sealers or deep penetration sealers made specifically for concrete. Meanwhile, asphalt sealers contain refined coal tar (asphalt emulsion), water, sand, clay, polymers, and additives and are incompatible with concrete’s surface texture and higher density.

Yes, you can seal old concrete, but proper preparation is essential. Before sealing, ensure the concrete is clean, dry, and free of any old sealant. To check if resealing is necessary, place a few drops of water on the surface; if they are absorbed in less than five minutes, it's time to reseal. If you are using the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are applying a different type of sealer, the existing one must be removed. Additionally, repair or fill any cracks to create a smooth base before you begin sealing.

Yes, using low VOC and water-based coatings to reduce environmental impact.

Epoxy flooring is used in many outdoor applications. Pebble epoxy flooring, in particular, is a great choice for most areas like porches, patios, and walkways. It adds visual appeal while adding texture using natural materials. The surface, however, can be slick when wet. Consider adding a non-slip additive if the area gets heavy foot traffic or if you live in a wet climate.

To preserve a concrete coating, routine maintenance should include regular sweeping and cleaning to remove debris and dirt, promptly addressing any spills to prevent staining, and applying a sealer as the manufacturer recommends. Inspect the surface periodically for any signs of wear or damage to ensure timely repairs and maintain the coating's protective qualities.
