"Ryan is honest, knowledgeable, & responsive (I had done extensive research on solar panels before selecting SoCal Energy & Sunergy). Everyone who worked on the project was professional & pleasant to deal with, & quickly responded to any question or concern. I am recommending them to anyone I speak to about solar panels. :-)"

"I recently had the pleasure of working with American Construction and Roofing for a roof replacement, and I cannot express how satisfied I am with their service. Ilan, the project manager, played a crucial role in ensuring the entire process was seamless and stress-free. From the initial consultation to the completion of the project, Ilan demonstrated a high level of professionalism and expertise. He took the time to thoroughly inspect my roof, providing detailed explanations of the issues and presenting a comprehensive plan for the replacement. Ilans knowledge instilled confidence in me that I had chosen the right company for the job. The construction teams efficiency was remarkable, completing the project ahead of schedule without compromising on quality. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of their work, and the final result exceeded my expectations. The new roof not only enhances the curb appeal of my home but also provides a sense of security knowing that it was installed with precision and care."

"I worked with the owner Carlos Martinez who designed a rooftop solar system for me. His team installed the system including a Tesla Powerwall and a charger in the garage for my electric vehicle. Carlos managed all of the interaction with IID, the City of Indio and my HOA. This proved to be invaluable given the technical requirements of the utility and the evolving regulations of the city. Carlos did a good job of keeping me apprised of schedules, inspections and changing issues with the utility. I am very pleased with the system and have recommended MYZ Solar to a neighbor who is considering getting a solar system for his home."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.

Learn about common solar blockers in your area to determine how often you should wash solar panels and the best cleaning method:

  • Soot: If you have a fireplace, soot can disperse and accumulate on the solar panels.

  • Debris, dirt, and leaves: These natural elements require light cleaning. Being close to trees or living in a desert area can cause more of these to accumulate.

  • Pollen: Areas with a high pollen count require more frequent solar panel cleaning, and sticky plant material requires a deeper cleaning.

  • Bird droppings: Bird droppings are binding and more difficult to remove. Keep this in mind if you live near a lot of surrounding trees.

There are a few qualifying questions you should ask a local solar panel company before hiring them:

  • Will you handle permits for the installation?

  • Does your total price include the equipment and labor?

  • How long do you expect the installation process to take?

  • What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?

  • Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?

  • Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?

  • Will you file for solar incentives for me?

The best solar-panel mounting system will depend on your property layout, but you’ll typically want to try for south-facing panels to get the most sun. Roof mounting and wall mounting are both popular, but if your well setup is far away from buildings and other structures you can also set up a freestanding aluminum frame to mount your panels.

No, you cannot turn on a new solar system before inspection. The inspector checks that the system is correctly connected to the grid and that safety components and features are in place. This process prevents problems on the electrical grid and offers protection against fire in your home.

Your local utility company may also require inspection documentation before you can connect to the grid. An inspection can ensure solar power efficiency and determine how you might increase it.
