"I first want to say that I did not want to write a bad review, and I have put this off for a year hoping it would not be necessary. I was looking for landscape/yard maintenance and found Brad Sayre's name with great reviews on Angie's List. In January of 2018 I set up an appointment for Brad Sayre to come to my house and consult on work that I needed done; yard maintenance, weeding, weed eating, trees cleaned up, pruning and some irrigation put in. Our property does not have landscaping completed. Our grass area was just green weeds, mowed. We had landscape plans drawn up but had not started yet. After talking with Brad he told me that he was not able to do the work. " That there was no money in it for him." He said that for the work I needed done that, " I should just hire some mexicans" to do it. He said that doing the work would not make him any money since I do not have any landscaping done and won't need regular maintenance. I explained that I had landscape plans drawn up and he said he would give me a quote to do the work on the plans. He said that if we had him to the landscaping then he would come and do the work I needed on the yard at that time. I said that once the landscaping was done I would want him to come every two weeks for maintenance. He said that he only weekly maintenance. So Brad took my plans with him to give me a quote for the work to be done. Here are the emails Brad and I exchanged back and forth. Feb 8,2018 Dayna, Regrettably i jest realized i left out a major cost for the bark to finish up the project , this will add 3500.00 to the actual cost i do apologize but it has to be accounted for in in cost of the job again sorry Brad Sayre Sayre Landscape Services Inc. 707-571-1154 sayrelandscape@yahoo.com Feb 8th Was the estimate attached? Sent from my iPhone March 21, 2018 Dayna Geary To: Dayna Geary Mar 21, 2018 at 11:27 AM Hi Brad, Seems like from your email your price is would be the same or more than the other landscape service. So I will probably just go with them when the time comes. Can you please return my design plans? You can either mail them or drop them off. If I am not here you can just leave them on my front porch. Thanks so much for your time. Dayna Dayna Geary 415-531-1014 July 22, 2018 Dayna Geary To: Brad Sayre Jul 22, 2018 at 2:07 PM Hi Brad, can you please return my design plans? Thanks!! Dayna Sent from my iPhone August 10.2018 Dayna Geary To: sayrelandscape@yahoo.com Cc: Ed Geary Aug 10, 2018 at 7:49 PM This is my 3rd attempt to get my landscape plans back. Can you please either mail them to me or drop them off by my mailbox. Thank you, Dayna Geary I have made 2-3 calls since the last email, asking for my plans to be returned. I have not been able to reach Brad and left voicemails. My husband has also called him a couple times, no answer so left voicemails, asking for the plans back. At this time, April 25, 2019, I still do not have my plans. I do have another set of plans I can use, so that is not the bigger issue for me. Some of my issues are the things he said during the meeting; that I should hire Mexicans to do it for me, that he said there was no money in it for him, that he said he'd do the work if I had him do the landscaping. I think there was a more professional way to handle the meeting. It is perfectly acceptable for him to say that he normally does bigger jobs, or that he is unable to do the work for whatever reason. I would totally understand that. I was uncomfortable when he told me I should just hire some Mexicans to do it. Then, I didn't even receive a professional estimate. I received an email with bad spelling and no information. Just "front" and "back" estimates. And had I gotten my plans back after that I wouldn't really have a problem. I would just chalk it to a meeting that didn't work, some unprofessional statements, and I would have gone on with my life. But that fact that I have been trying to get my plans back for a year, with voicemails and emails, and getting absolutely no response from him, has left me no choice but to leave a bad review."

It might seem counterintuitive, but the best time to install a paver patio is during late fall to winter. The cold and wet weather of those seasons can help your patio installer perfect the foundation for your patio. Plus, you'll likely be able to find better sales and deals during the colder months when patio installation business is typically slower. Consult a local patio paver professional to determine the best time to install based on your area’s climate.
The cost of a paver patio is $3,800 for a 280-square-foot patio on average. Depending on the patio size, paver material, and design complexity, this cost can range from $2,400 to $7,000 or more.
The size of your patio is a significant factor in the project’s overall cost. If you're building a smaller patio of only 60 square feet, your costs will be closer to $480 to $1,500. If you want a more luxurious 900-square-foot patio, you'll spend closer to $7,200 to $22,500.
A paver patio can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years, depending on the type of pavers and how well you maintain them.
Travertine pavers are usually the most durable, lasting 100 years or more, with regular maintenance. Concrete brick pavers have a variety of shapes and colors available and typically last 25 to 50 years. Traditional brick pavers have a more classic look, lasting around 20 years with proper maintenance.
It's also necessary to install paver edging when installing a paver patio. This additional step helps prevent the paver borders from shifting outward, which happens due to frequent use and soil expansion over time. By being diligent and placing the paver edging during the patio installation, you can help minimize upkeep and repair costs. Plus, this feature can help maintain your pavers to keep them in place permanently.
While installing a paver patio yourself is possible, we don’t recommend it. First, this project is very time-consuming, averaging around 40 to 50 hours. Beyond the sheer amount of labor required, you need to have knowledge of yard grading and drainage so that rainwater doesn't puddle on your new patio.
Without sufficient expertise, you could encounter several problems, including improper placement and leveling of sand or improperly compacted soil, leading to an uneven surface. For these reasons, hiring a professional paver patio installer is advisable to build the patio of your dreams.
