"Gabriel is wonderful!! Super responsive, polite, warm, punctual, efficient, neat, and most importantly, COMPETENT. So many folks really and truly do NOT know what they’re doing and they’ll charge you a lot more for the pleasure of their failed experiments. Gabriel replaced my garbage disposal and grounded a GFCI outlet, leaving no mess behind and clearly describing the work he had done. I would hire him again in a second (this was our first meeting) and we’ve already discussed the next project I would like him to tackle. Gabriel is also a pleasure to have in the home and is sweet to pets!"

Their expertise was clear from the start, with a comprehensive understanding of our needs and the ability to deliver industrial-grade finishes that can withstand high-traffic areas. The team was punctual, professional, and maintained a high level of cleanliness throughout the project. The level of customer service and the quality of their work is a rare find in today's market. "Juan Garcia, owner of Garcia Drywall, was a complete pleasure to hire! His price was excellent for remedying the problems on the wall at the back of my garden, replacing the lower half of the wall, beautifully repainting the entire wall, burying a long hose to carry the water from my roof around the entire garden, perfect at cleaning up everything upon the completion of the 3 day project! He arrived at my house early and worked along with his brother until late afternoon in very hot days. The ideas on how best to fix the problems were A1. He is a pro, excellent communicator in both Spanish and English, very knowledgeable, and a wonderful fellow! From. Suzanne Meierding I I will call him first if my other 2 homes have any problems! Just great in many ways! I recommend him completely!"

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

If your door has interchangeable inserts, you’ll likely want to swap the glass out for a screen during the summer months. The process to do so will vary by door, but you’ll follow these general steps: First, use a flathead screwdriver to pop out the retainer strips—the plastic strips running down both long (and sometimes all four) sides of the door. Then gently pull them out by hand. Carefully remove the glass insert from the door and replace it with the screen. Finally, push the plastic retainer strips back into place, working from top to bottom.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.

The best type of window screen for your home depends on your region and your family’s needs. While fiberglass window screens are a popular, affordable, and easy-to-find choice, you may be looking for different benefits, such as a more high-end look, increased strength, or extended durability. The best window screen meets the demands of your home and its residents while staying within your budget.

If you’re not keen on using a traditional doggie door, there are some alternatives. One popular option is a solid, insulated door that you can lock when you’re out of the home for added security. You can also opt for a doggie screen, which you can lift and lower to allow your pooch access to the outdoors. These are a bit more convenient to use than a regular exterior door, although security could be an issue. You can also install a screen door with a small opening for your pup to prevent bugs from coming inside as your dog exits.
