"This was an usual project. It was redoing a mini bar. Hard to find a contractor that would do it or had the time. Homepro was great lead by project manager Shir Hadad. Jumped right in there and took it on and got the job done. Really appreciate their professionalism."

"When I called Vince, he was on his way to another job. He took my number and told me he would call the following day and gave me an approx time. When I spoke to Vince the following day as scheduled, he informed me that he would be tied up on the other job, but would send someone out to take a look at it. The person who came out took a look at my roof and called Vince on the spot to tell Vince where the leak was. Vince gave me a price over the phone with a guarantee. I knew I was close to having to replace my roof. Vince told me my options, but NEVER once tried to push me to try and replace it. I opted to just repair the leak. Vince gave me a more than far price and it was fixed it on the spot. I had to leave to visit a friend in the hospital so I wasn?t able to stay for the job to be completed. Vince said they would stay and do the job and told me to just mail him the money. When I mailed the payment, I apparently put the wrong address on the envelope and it was returned in the mail about two weeks later. I re-mailed the payment and called Vince to tell him what happened. He was so kind and so understanding. When I finally have to break down and replace my roof Vincent Fascio Roofing will definitely have my business."

"I just can't say enough good things about Oscar and his team. My mother and I needed to find someone to clean up a mess left by another contractor who not only did not listen to what was wanted, but just made a bigger mess. We were SO pleasantly surprised when Oscar met with us and not only *actually* listened, but asked relevant questions to make sure we were all on the same page. He even took extra steps like walking the property to see firsthand what was being expressed and took videos with his drone to show us areas we weren't even aware of. He was also kind, thoughtful, and polite and did NOT mansplain things, which was SO refreshing! When the day came for the work to be done, he brought with him his exceptional team who we were also extremely impressed with. They worked quickly but also very thoroughly and had the job done in a day. They also exceeded our expectations. The property was cleaned up and looks the way my mom had hoped it would originally. I can't say enough good things about Oscar and his team and I really don't want this review to be too long, but if you are tired of being trampled by arrogant or incompetent contractors, then contact Oscar Montano Trucking. You will feel like you are working with a friend who REALLY cares that the job is done right and is just a cut above the rest."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.

When temperatures drop far enough, even rock salt can’t melt the ice. The briny solution freezes before it develops, and the salt doesn’t work, which happens around 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that wind chill and other factors impact ice-melting progress. Some ice melters, like magnesium chloride, work at colder temperatures and work better for deep winter freezes.

While most people associate defrosting icy roads with salt, you can also use sugar for a similar result. Sugar lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice in a pinch.

However, sugar doesn’t melt ice as well as salt because it doesn’t separate the water molecules as efficiently. So, if you need to quickly melt a stubborn patch of ice on your driveway or walkway, it’s best to use salt over sugar for faster results.

The best way to save money on snow removal is to sign up for a seasonal contract that guarantees service throughout the entire winter. Most companies charge between $200 and $600 for this service, and they’ll often give you a break on the price if you extend annually. Of course, savings will depend on your area. If you live in a moderate climate where snowfall may or may not occur, you could pay more than you need during a light snow year. Still, it’s usually a safe bet to sign a seasonal contract.

Leaving a significant amount of snow on your roof can be risky. Most roofs are designed to handle about 20 pounds per square foot of snow, but exceeding this limit can lead to a roof collapse. A collapse can cause severe damage to your home and belongings and poses a physical danger to anyone inside. Furthermore, heavy snow accumulation increases the risk of ice dams, which can cause leaks and water damage to your roof, attic, and interior walls.
