"As always, they do a great job. My couch went from brown to white again. It's amazing how everything looks new now. I had multiple pee stains from my Beagle that were all removed and the carpets look great. Jason even gave me some tips on how to better clean certain surfaces. It's amazing what he knows about fibers and the chemicals / technologies behind cleaning. I'm very pleased."

"The only reason I tried this company was their Big Deal offer for carpet cleaning.  I was annoyed from the start, as they did not come in the time window they arranged, and did not call me until the end of their window to tell me they were going to be late.  When they eventually came they stated that the carpet cleaning was only a "maintenance cleaning" and that if I really wanted the carpets cleaned I should opt for the "deep cleaning" - which was, of course, more.  They did give the Big Deal discount but then charged a $10 Angie's List surcharge - what was that about?  Either it's the Big Deal price or not, there should be no surcharge.
They stated that the carpets would be dry in 1 - 2 hours.  They weren't dry for at least two days.
I would NOT use this company again.  This experience has also soured me on trying anyone new offering a Big Deal.

Drapery Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

You can clean curtains without washing them by vacuuming them and then steam cleaning or having them dry cleaned. When vacuuming, use a soft brush attachment if you’re working with a heartier material, like cotton or polyester. You can spot-treat stains with a stain remover after vacuuming, and then use a steam cleaner to clean the curtains from top to bottom. You can also bring them to a dry cleaner to have odors, dirt, stains, and allergens removed without washing them.

There are several ways to store clothes properly and keep them smelling good. You can keep clothing in a climate-controlled closet for best results, but if this isn’t in your budget, there are many DIY solutions. From using air freshener sprays to keeping a box of baking soda in the closet, you can eliminate unwanted odors. Always store clean, dry clothes in the closet to minimize odors.

First, ensure your clothes are clean before you pack them. When packing, make sure they’re folded and stored within the container with enough room to breathe. For extra protection, try using cedar chips or lavender sachets, which naturally repel bugs. Lastly, periodically checking in on your clothes will help you stay aware of their condition.

Yes, professional drape cleaning is often worth the investment. A professional cleaning service can remove accumulated allergens like dust, pollen, and pet dander, which is especially beneficial for households with allergy sufferers or individuals with respiratory issues like asthma. This process also effectively eliminates odors from cooking, pets, and daily life, helping your home look and smell fresh while improving indoor air quality. Furthermore, hiring a professional ensures that the correct cleaning methods are used, preventing damage to the fabric. It is generally recommended to have drapes professionally cleaned every four to five years, with regular light vacuuming in between.
