"Omg! I wish I could give Legacy Builders a 10 plus rating. From the moment of the first contact, I could not ask any more from Jon, the owner. Or his employees. All calls, texts, and emails were either immediately answered or promptly returned. I received Bids from 2 other Licensed Contractors and Legacy Builders was within a few hundred dollars but Jon enthusiasm and expertise when he came to give me a bid was absolutely top-notch. Coming from years of working in the Plumbing Construction Industry myself (I know I did not tell him that) It was apparent to me right off the bat that he had extensive experience was up to snuff on the Building Codes. He was upfront in telling me that he was booked out for a month or so. And that very night I received a brilliantly detailed bid (and there were a lot of details) along with a copy of his Business License License, Contractors License, and Certificate of Liability. Workers Compensation insurance. Those are typically a homeowner would receive without requesting them. So yes... I was extremely impressed and ultimately made my decision at that Juncture and that did not let me down. Job Performance. Work Ethic by the two employees was outstanding. They did an amazing job and were very accommodating. They started the job when Jon told me they would and were here everyday all day until Job was completed. That is a rare standard in the Construction world. In addition to that Jon stayed in constant contact with them and myself via phone calls or text assuring that we were all on the same page at all times. Plus he was physically here himself almost daily inspecting, coordinating delivering materials. Honesty, Integrity Hard Work is essential to me and again, they did not disappoint. I have to own this... This was no easy job. So much detail and crafting. I threw several monkey wrenches in the works. And... I lean toward being a perfectionist. Reasonable but picky. I did not have one thing to pick apart. The Trex Decking is Beautiful, level, and spaced to code for drainage. They demo the existing deck and hauled away all debris. Cleaned up mess daily at quitting time. The custom made Redwood Fencing Skirting are equally as Beautiful. Also Solid built to Code. Framework for basement siding, basement flooring all gates was done impeccably. All materials are top of the line in quality. The grains and colors in the redwood are top of the line. Like actually has red in it. So pretty. I feel blessed to have made the right decision. I would never use or recommend anyone else. I really just cannot express accurately with words the gratitude respect Legacy Builders earned with me."

"He has done a very good job with it, very professional, It is a rental property ha had basically installed slinging doors and also did patchwork on my drywall, baseboards, exteriors doors, and outside moldings, he actually installed things faster than I expected. His price was reasonable, clean, courteous, the tenants were very happy with the contractor, the contractor did his best to avoid dust and noise to annoy the tenants and did a professional job. No complaints all. He took photos on the work to make sure that the work was okay already and asked a few feedbacks from the tenants as well and they were very happy and has positive feedback."

"Dustin Evans, owner of All-in-One Construction, has been our "reno" home contractor for numerous years. From sheetrock to Hardy Board siding, to new garage doors, windows, doors, and front deck expansions, the team has touched every corner of our home, both inside and out -- except the kitchen, which will be the last hurrah! Dustin and his "guys" do a great job with each project "tasked" and stand by their work. The team is personable, honorable, and HONEST. They often offer suggestions and go above and beyond. Pricing is fair. In an urgent SOS matter, Dustin makes you an immediate priority -- which is an invaluable trait these days. My husband and l greatly appreciate Dustin's work ethic/professionalism and personal dedication to his own family and ours. HB"

"Anthony helped me locate the source of a leak from heavy rains. He determined it was coming from windows and siding. He re- installed the windows, flashing, and siding to solve the problem. Work was done timely and professionally. I also had him replace area of plywood siding with Hardee board shingles."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Stick frames, metal frames, or prefabricated concrete frames are included in framing a house, along with creating the framework and space for windows, doors, and entryways. Other aspects of developing a home—like drywall, insulation, windows, doors, and more—are not included in the cost to frame a house.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.
