Every aspect from design, square footage and materials being used were priced accordingly. You know they took the time and research to make sure that everything is valued accordingly. Most bids we receive from other landscape contractors were just 1 page and only showed the approximate cost. The trees and shrubs that were planted in my backyard not only had good variation but also served a purpose. 
One of the most important aspects of backyard landscape that usually gets overlooked at is it's drainage system. A backyard won't function well and can create problems if water can't exit out in the front. When he had some heavy rain a couple of weekends ago, excess rain water were all directed and collected to the 4 drains they had installed. This means that they had planned and graded my soil appropriately where no water will remain stagnant. They even placed 2 drains on my concrete patio.
