Shortly after I called Brad came out surveyed the property and took note of the work that I needed. He gave me an immediate estimate and I agreed to the price on the spot. He and a crew of two others came out while I was away and completed the job. Brad knows what he is doing and did it to perfection. You could not tell where the two removed trees stood because the stumps were cut below the ground. The cleanup afterwards was meticulous. When he sent me an invoice I was surprised because he had reduced his original bid! I paid him the original bid price because I was very satisfied with his work. I intend to use Northern Arizona Tree Service and Landscaping again soon to put in new trees and plants and to upgrade my irrigation system. They are very reputable and do great work. I highly recommend them.
"They were great. 4 men worked for 3 days. End project better than I could have imagined. Came when stated. Worked hard. Cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommend."
"Agassiz showed up on time, worked hard and finished early. Their rates are more than fair, and their customer service is nothing short of outstanding. We liked them so much, we’ve hired them for ongoing landscaping services!"
"We purchased a townhome in Flagstaff several months ago. The unit is situated on a small hill with a pine forest to the rear. There was a small patio in the rear yard. However, the soil was eroding down the hill into the valley below and the patio was cracking due to the unstable soil. I contacted Angelsun Landscaping and Michael inspected the problem and came up with a solution to stop the erosion and stabilize the rear yard with a retaining wall and extending our brick paver patio. JP, Michael's father suggested additional items and solutions. The work took just a little over a week. We were not at the property while the work was taking place. When we arrived to view the work...we were totally blown away by the improvements. They were better than expected. The new patio was magnificent!! In addition, an aluminum wrought iron style fence was added plus a planting area. All the work exceeded our expectations. JP and Michael are the consummate professionals and we would not hesitate to have them do any landscaping work we may have in the future."

"From the estimate by Brad, to the work by his crew, they were all first rate. The workers are proud of their work as shown by the perfection they achieved. They are pleasant, on time, and go above and beyond to make sure that the results are in line with my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend Northern Arizona Tree & Landscaping. If you don’t like the way your empty drainage ditch looks, reach out to a local landscaping professional to discuss your options. They may be able to liven it up with plants, stones, bushes, or other decorative elements. You can also add your own landscaping, but you should first make sure that it won’t block your ditch or prevent it from operating effectively.
Plant privet hedges at least 1 foot apart in a trench about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. It’s important to space privet hedges relatively far apart due to how quickly they grow to significant sizes and heights. You don’t want to crowd privet plants, or they could overcrowd each other, causing unwanted damage.
Yes, you can put topsoil over sand to encourage grass growth. The topsoil will help to improve water retention and promote grass roots’ development, making it a recommended step of the seeding process. Adding a layer of topsoil will provide additional nutrients to the sandy soil, helping the grass grow and remain healthy through many seasons.
As much as you might try to keep a healthy, nutrient-rich lawn, you still may notice signs of St. Augustine decline (SAD)—a viral disease that discolors your grass blades. St. Augustine decline looks like:
Discoloration in the leaves (chlorosis)—leaves appear yellow and splotchy
Decline in growth
Leaves turn black within 3 years
Grass appears less vibrant
Grass begins to thin
Root rot
Grass takes longer to recover
The best time to plant a tree is in the spring, so the roots have time to grow into the surrounding soil before winter sets in. Some people recommend planting in the late fall. However, planting in the spring reduces the stress on the tree, as it will be emerging from dormancy, giving it the full spring and summer ahead to acclimate and put down roots into the soil.
