"Chad was great. Responded immediately to my request for a quote. He came when he was scheduled and got right to work. We had to rehang existing gutters that were removed when the roof was replaced. Would completely recommend Chad. I dont know if hes the owner, but a super nice and efficient worker! Thank you"

"New Gutters Installed. Ed Donohue Contractors installed brand new Gutters on our home. He completed the job for the price of the estimate, there were no hidden costs for added fees. His workmanship was exemplary. He was professional courteous and always available for any questions that I had. He was there at the time and date he told me he would start. And he was finished at the exact time and date he told me. I canâ t say enough about the great work he did with the gutters, I wanted a few things done differently in regards to the downspouts and he was able to do the specialize work with no problem. I highly recommend Ed his company is everything the reviews say it is. And for many the most important thing he was extremely competitive on his pricing. For less than many other contractors he did the fantastic work. My wife and I could not be happier!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Gutters should not drip at the seams. This problem could indicate that water is collecting in the gutters instead of moving to the downspouts. You could have leaves or other debris blocking the flow of water at the seams. Try cleaning the gutters, adjusting the slope, and sealing any holes or cracks in the material to fix this problem.

Regular cleaning, checking for leaks, and ensuring that downspouts direct water away from the foundation help prolong gutter life.

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.

If you don't repair your home’s gutter leaks, water or the gutters themselves can damage your home’s siding, roofing, foundation, and landscaping. Untreated leaks encourage mildew, mold, and rot, depending on the type of siding material. The foundation, chimney, window frames, and drywall can also crack over time, leading to costly repairs.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.
