"I moved into a rental home and the yard was a mess! Daniel the owner gave me an affordable estimate for getting rid of over grown weeds, tree branch trimming. He trimmed the two Bougainvillea Bushes that were just out of control. And he trimmed the palm tree in the front yard along with taking out the many weeds that were present there."

"I was very happy with the work that CWC performed.  The owner came out and met with me.  We walked around the yard and discussed what needed to be done (and there was a lot to be done).  His wife is the one who answers e-mails, and she was very responsive and professional.  He quoted me $925, and it was more than worth it to me to not have to do the work myself.  They got rid of weeds, trimmed trees, put down the chemical that prevents weeds from returning, and replaced the sprinkler system.  The crew was professional and, to me, seemed to work quickly.  The amount I was charged was exactly what was quoted. They came out 2 weeks later to check and make sure there were no weeds cropping up.   The yard looks great!  I am now having them perform monthly maintenance at $75/month.  The crew did have to reschedule the monthly maintenance one time, but they communicated with me via e-mail and phone the day before.

"Winter Cleaning Services always goes above and beyond to ensure my home is clean and in top shape. Every cleaning has exceeded my expectations. They tailor their service to my home and assist where it’s most needed while ensuring to clean every room in my house. I have a newborn and a toddler and Maria and team are definitely not afraid of baby toys or clutter. My prior service that I had cancelled prior to having regular cleanings with Winter often avoided the baby clutter, but Maria’s team helps me attack these areas and will often help organize when needed. Hiring Winter Cleaning Services has been been essential in maintaining my house and home, and has been one of the best decisions as a new mom to two littles!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Jose came out the same day to access what needed to be done and gave me a very reasonable cost for the services. He started the job that day but could not finish and came back in the morning the next day. I have a huge backyard that was being over grown with weeds and out of control shrubs. They came out on time and did a great job! Very pleased with the work him and his crew."

"The yard care was thorough and efficient. All weeds gone and the whole yard, back and front yard was sprayed as preventive maintenance. They were careful not to spray existing plants with weed spray. Fig sapling was removed per my request and it looks like a tree and not a bush Light trimming was done on the other plants. They were respectful, polite, a trustworthy company I am happy to work with."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Landscaping fabric can only help to prevent weed growth in the short term. It's not an ideal long-term solution because dirt will eventually make its way on top of it, causing weeds to sprout. These fabrics can also leave microplastics in the environment for many, many years, so pulling weeds using one of the methods in this guide as soon as you see them is a better long-term prevention strategy.

Johnsongrass and crabgrass are invasive weeds that can overtake your lawn. Crabgrass is a low-growing grass most often seen in lawns, flower beds, and vegetable gardens. While you may find Johnsongrass growing in your lawn, it will also grow in pastures, crop fields, and the edge of the road. Johnsongrass is much coarser than crabgrass. If left alone, Johnsongrass can grow up to 8 feet tall.

Too much clover in your lawn can indicate several issues with your soil. Clover can thrive in soils with abnormally high pH, low-cut grass, and low nitrogen. Amending these issues can push clover out for good.

Hardy perennial clover loves the low nitrogen and compact conditions that often come with poor, infertile soils. But other factors also contribute to a clover explosion, including drought conditions, cool temperatures, under fertilization, and over-irrigation. You’ll need to evaluate all these elements when planning to kill off the clover.

Buffalo grass does not turn green as early in the spring as some other grasses. If you have a heavily shaded yard, buffalo grass may not receive enough sunlight to thrive. It’s not as dense as some other grass varieties, so it may not feel as comfortable on bare feet.

No, it's not really possible to completely prevent weed growth. Weeds are incredibly resilient—all they usually need is a tiny bit of dirt to sprout, so their eventual appearance is pretty much inevitable. However, you can definitely keep them at bay by getting rid of weeds as soon as you notice them. The longer you let them sit and grow roots, the more they'll spread.
