"Precision carpentry and materials, and the highest quality craftsmanship. They built a utility shed and a deck for me in Summer of 2018. The team showed up sharp each morning and worked hard throughout the day to earn the business. I admired how the owner (Scottie) found opportunities throughout the day to talk with his carpenters about how their techniques can be refined even further. The owner has been doing this work as a one-man-show for years, but now is building a growing business around it. I wish them well, and expect to do business with them again. The 10'x12' shed was built entirely on-site using solid wood dimensional lumber and T-111 plywood paneling. The only OSB is a small amount for the subfloor; I like that this is built out of real wood, not the sawdust and glue you will find in so many pre-fab units sold throughout town. I've bought lumber at the stores and know that to find one true piece, two pieces usually must be skipped. They clearly do this hard work of inspection at the lumber yard, and it shows in the end result."

"This was no small project and this contractor is not typical... a second floor deck around 3 sides of a 6 bedroom house done in a way I could park a car on the deck. Workmanship was 5 star, worked full days, used quality materials and the fit and finish is beyond our expectations. Phil and his crew are AMAZING!! I only have pictures of the two additional projects, one a storage area and the other an eating area built on top of a tree with a 1.5" gap between deck and tree platform to conform to code. Non better to do business with!"

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"The bi-fold door was fine.  Made the door frame the wrong size...came back next day to correct.  Job was shoddy.  Nails showing, no caulking...door did not close.  They came back, fixed the door not closing, and tried to cover nails and caulk.  Just was not a very professional job."

"Superb work ethic and attention to detail. We hired them to do a family room addition, 2 bathroom renovation, relocate our main front door and added a deck. They also did the flooring throughout the upper level of our home, added a secondary exterior door next to our garage. A few highlights about these gentlemen… It is seldom to come across respectful, trustworthy, very easy to work with, efficient, committed to excellence, and very focused individuals, and they are just that and more! They come to work with huge smiles on their faces. They were very professional and provided communication throughout the entire project. They truly went above and beyond to make us happy. We are very grateful for their time and commitment to complete the project. We love these guys! We will definitely hire them again =)"

"This pro is a real pro! Did everything right without being told. Arrived on time, had the proper tools put booties on which my wife was delighted about without even asking, and completed the job perfectly leaving the assembled bunkbeds placed and looking beautiful, My grandchildren will appreciate this as I appreciate this pro and the work he did. Highly recommended!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Balcony construction or replacement typically requires a building permit from your local permitting authority. Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.
