"Chuck and his crew did a fantastic job. He answered our million questions and his responsiveness is a big reason we went with him over another contractor. He was able to steer us to a vendor that could get our specific tile when we were unable to find it ourselves and helped us with the calculations on how much to purchase and he matched it perfectly with the flooring outside the room he did. You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we don’t recommend placing hot pots and pans directly on granite countertops. Even if it doesn’t scar the granite, it may damage the sealant.

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

The best way to save money on countertop installation is to choose an affordable material. For example, if you have a busy kitchen and need durability, choose a more affordable but lasting material like granite countertops. Likewise, if you don't use your countertops often, you can use a softer material that costs less than more sturdy ones. 

Another way to cut costs is to remove and dispose of the existing countertops yourself, if possible. That way, countertop installers can get straight to placing the new feature, reducing labor costs.

You attach solid surface counters with construction adhesive. Once your slab is ready, you fit it to the wall, apply the adhesive, and secure it in place with clamps until the glue dries. This usually takes several days. 

Afterward, you install the backsplash, faucets, and more. At this point, you can caulk the counter, allow it to dry for 24 hours, and then you're done with the installation.
