"Extremely well. William, Mat, Joe, Raul, Eddie, & Phil (hope I didn't miss any of the crew) replaced two HVAC units with Daikin Fit Inverter Systems. They arrived on time, were very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The quality of work was outstanding (they even fixed a few electrical glitches). If the systems perform as well as the installation crew, we will be extremely satisfied customers. Of course only time will tell with respect to the systems, but I would highly recommend ACS Air Conditioning Services."

"Very well! He's very personable and arrived on time. He cleaned our ducts that hadn't been cleaned since our house was built - we could smell dust when the heat went on. He sprayed Microban 24-hour in the ducts and the whole house smells wonderful! He's ressonably priced, also."

"Angel Air scheduled a technician Mike the next morning to review the performance of my 5 ton 2 stage AC unit. Mike adjusted both stages of the compressor fan speed which improved the cool air output at the registers to an acceptable level . Luckily, as he was preparing to close the unit the intermittent noise started, and he detected that the screws for the compressor cover were not totally tightened which now corrected both conditions. Mike was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and I feel an asset to your company. After eight years of satisfied service, I continue to recommend friends to your company ."

"Brad is passionate about energy savings and loves to help customers implement creative solutions. He thinks outside the box and brings valuable advice to the table, sometimes including ones that reduce his own fees.
By carefully considering all the facets of the situation, he helped me select a 2-ton unit to replace my aging, poorly installed 3-ton. Improvements to the ducting, etc. made up the difference. The house is now quieter and cools at least as well as before. The installation is also much more visually appealing than the last one. My new unit should last many trouble-free years, saving money all the while. I didn't check around to see if he was the cheapest, but the price was definitely reasonable.
We also worked together to install a small mini-split heat pump in an addition that no HVAC before. I wanted a unit he wasn't familiar with and had some picky ideas about how it should be installed. He was open-minded about how to make it work and the project was a success. His fees were pretty reasonable on this job, too.
I have at least one other project that I'll be doing with Brad this year. I wish more HVAC contractors were as creative and flexible as he is. This city would be a much cooler place!

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The simplest indicator is how long it’s been since your last tune-up. You should schedule an annual AC tune-up each spring. Beyond that, there are multiple signs that your AC needs a quick check by a professional. These issues include higher-than-average energy bills, decreased air flow from vents, higher indoor temperatures, and an air conditioning unit that stays on all the time or frequently turns on and off.

An AC drip pan may stop draining if there’s a clog where the drip pan connects to the drain line. Clogs can form from a lack of cleaning or from rust or corrosion buildup. Cleaning the drip pan at least once per month lowers the chances of debris clogging the drain line.

The decision to put your AC unit on the roof or ground depends on the climate in your area, the roof shape, accessibility, and budget. If you live in a warm climate or don’t have existing ductwork, it’s likely best to stick to a traditional AC unit that sits on the ground. However, if you lack yard space, live in a mild climate, and have easy access to the roof, your home may benefit from a rooftop AC unit.

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.

While it's generally safe to stay in a home with a coolant leak if your home is properly ventilated, it's important to have a professional come out to assess the situation right away. You should evacuate your home if you notice any powerful fumes. Additionally, you should leave your home if you are experiencing headaches or dizziness.
