"One hour air conditioning and heat realy knows there stuff. I called them on a Sunday with an issue with my HVAC and they scheduled for a technician to come have a look the very next day. Ryan Sill called me before showing up and also sent me a text message. He was very prompt and within 15 minutes of troubleshooting he knew exactly what was wrong with my unit. He immediately called me with his diagnosis and will fix my issue the next following day. I am very impressed with his respect and courtesy to my needs. He was very professional and respected my property. I highly recommend this company."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Zoned HVAC systems can be worth it for some homeowners, even with the added HVAC replacement costs, because they offer tremendous benefits. Zoned HVAC may offer greater stability and efficiency if your home has multiple levels and experiences constant temperature fluctuations. However, even smaller homes without major fluctuations can benefit since zoned HVAC systems can adjust their temperature more quickly by heating and cooling only the spaces you need.

No, you don’t need a ductless unit in every room. Ductless AC units don't work the way that window units do, where the air doesn't travel outside that room. The indoor air handlers all attach to the outdoor condenser. While the air doesn't travel the way that traditional ductwork would, the ductless AC units create zones so that one part of the home can be cooler than another. They can spread effectively enough that indoor units only need to be placed in main living areas.

If your AC runs constantly, it could be due to a number of things, including a faulty thermostat, incorrect temperature settings, or broken equipment. Alternatively, you might have an airflow problem (for example, blocked vents or leaky ductwork). Either way, an HVAC pro can identify the specific problem and fix it for you.

Unfreezing an AC unit is not a DIY project unless the problem is a dirty air filter. Changing out an air filter is easy for homeowners, but otherwise, trying to repair ductwork, refill refrigerant, or replace a blower fan motor are tasks best left to the pros. Otherwise, you could cause further damage to your cooling system or even harm to yourself.

High humidity is one of the most common reasons for air vents to sweat or produce condensation. When the cool, dry air from your HVAC unit meets warm and moist air in your home, it will cause condensation. Insulating your ductwork can help prevent this. If you live in a very humid region, a dehumidifier can also help.
