"It's a pretty decent system, I think. They send you the pieces and you install them yourself, which is pretty easy. The only real problem I have is that one sensor is too far away from the panel...or there's some interference, and they haven't been able to fix that. It's an interior door, so it's not the end of the world, just a little annoying. Their customer service is pretty good though. Nice, smart customer service people on the other end, very polite and helpful."

"The cleaner is professional when on-site, but had some issues with scheduling.  She failed to schedule enough time with a prior job to ensure she would get to my job on-time about one-two months prior to this cleaning.  By time she responded to reschedule, we were at the end of January.  The cleaning was supposed to be done by early December at the latest.  While I respect some of the issues going on at the time, the off-site professionalism still needs some work and near constant follow-up.
Also, when she came in, she asked what we are doing for the first time, but never did so prior though the special itself said house cleaning for $109.  She never did the windows and should have done so without asking.  The cleaning service was done within less than 2 hours, with the current special pricing of the same item placing the value at 4 hours.  This did not meet my expectations for what I hoped for.
On a good note, she did an excellent job on the bathroom and kitchen and her assistant on the floors.  The quality itself is great.  If you do not have time to clean the way a professional cleaner can on the same surface, she is a great person for that if you know what needs to be done.  If you do not have time to deal with trying to figure out what needs to be done, the service will not be as great as it could be.

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

It extends roof life, prevents costly repairs, and often lowers insurance premiums.

You should set aside about two hours for the roof inspection. Ideally, both you and your roofing contractor will be present during and after the inspection to ensure everyone is on the same page. Prepare any questions you have before the roofing inspector gets to your house so you can be ready to ask them the day of. Gather any relevant documents related to the roof, such as past construction completed, insurance, damages, etc.

In most cases, yes, you will need to be home while your roof inspector checks your roof. The inspector will be able to complete the exterior assessment without input from you, but they will also need access to your attic space to look for signs of leaking, like pest infestation, water stains, mold growth, and visible holes leading to the exterior. They will also check the roof trusses, rafters, and supports to confirm their structural integrity. Roof inspections usually take between two and three hours, so plan accordingly.

If a roof is not vented, trapped air and moisture have nowhere to go and will cause moisture to build up in the attic. When moisture builds up, it can cause mold and mildew, leaks, and rot. It will make the space hot and stuffy, which can result in higher energy bills as the HVAC system works overtime to regulate the temperature.

The easiest way to tell if your roof vent boot is leaking is to look in your attic for signs of water damage. You might see visible moisture, water spots, or mold on the roof decking around the roof vent or damaged or soggy insulation below it. If you don’t have access to your attic or aren’t sure if the vent boot is the issue, hire a professional to come inspect your roof and figure out the underlying issue.
