Small jobs welcome

"I’ve hired Leon 3 times. I first hired him to redo a back deck. Next I hired him to redo my kitchen. Finally, I had him install a couple of new light fixtures in the dining room. For all 3 jobs, he and his various crews were awesome and his rates are very affordable. He’s very easy to work with."

"Rick is the poster guy for over performing. He pressure washed our siding, gutters, blew off debris off our garage and house roof, and made other suggestions concerning roof replacement. I had no idea or roof was failing or soft, but his inspection revealed issues which need repair and issues of which we were totally unaware.. Ill have Rick back to pressure wash/strip and paint my deck and for any roof repairs we decide on. He was extremely professional, upbeat, and respectful beyond belief. Should I need any serious home repairs, I have his card on hand as the job he did was exceptional.. A+++"

"The management and workforce of Frank’s Professional Painting were excellent. They performed their jobs efficiently and professionally. Interior painting was flawless and although our exterior painting area was very extensive, Frank and his crew were able to complete the job in a timely manner with the finest results. I would wholeheartedly recommend Frank’s Professional Painting to anyone, for any painting job, large or small. I cannot say enough good things about the experience that I had with Frank and all his employees."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. The paint should not be allowed to freeze, and temperatures above 90 degrees can cause the paint to dry too quickly, also preventing the chemical reaction from following through to completion.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

The plastic in composite decking boards protects them enough that you do not need to paint them to prevent warping. In fact, painting composite decking voids the warranty of some manufacturers. Painting can also increase maintenance on the deck, as you must paint regularly to keep it looking its best.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

There are deck restoration products and oil-based wood stains that can help bring back some of the color and shine to your faded Trex decking. However, if your boards are suffering from serious fading due to UV rays or chemical cleaning products, don’t expect miracles. Also, these products are only suitable for use on the older Trex boards, not the capped, second-generation Trex products.
