"Brian installed the panel and ran wiring at our hunting cabin. He did a great job, and was a a good sport about it being such a remote location. More recently, our lights and appliances were not working correctly. I called him and he was at our home in under 90 minutes, made sure everything was okay on our end, and stayed with me until the electric company arrived to fix the power lines outside our home. I definitely would recommend this company! They are the best!"

"Understand that this â reviewâ of the generator system is from owning this whole arrangement two days. Not a good analysis of how the system will perform under actual demand. Time will tell this tale. At best I can tell you that the install went smoothly and looks professionally done. The work area was nicely cleaned up. The generator started and ran smoothly in a test with everyone on site and monitoring. The installation men were very polite and gave us a review of how to monitor and perform the superficial maintenance that owners must do. They did just fine on the install. So far they get a five star review."

"Highlights: Provided quote up front Provided a time line for completion Supplied the materials and labor Tweaked projects as my interested changed Highly reputable - did what they promised to do Trustworthy - earned my trust early and never caused me to doubt them; didn't even have to be home while they worked Clean freaks - they laid drop cloths along their walking paths and draped off rooms that are to be kept from construction dust. Turnkey jobs including electricians, plumbers, drywallers, floor layers Didn't expect payment until the job was complete In short, we contacted ACDC for a remodel quote for our kitchen and laundry room. This was a full gut job taken to the studs and slab. We have a chef's kitchen now with potfiller at the stove, counter depth frig, travertine floors and more. Once the ACDC team got started and helped me brainstorm ideas, my project grew to include a new living room mantel. We then added the 2 bathrooms to the list. This was our first project. It went well. As road bumps came up, they helped me navigate the choices. Our second project was a concrete pad and with a gas-powered generator. They demo'd the area, poured a new pad and installed the generator. Our third project was to repair termite damage to a wall in a bedroom. After Orkin treated and cleared it for rebuild, ACDC's crew removed all damaged areas, reconstructed the walls, textured the walls and painted. It's better than new! Our fourth project just finished. We replaced a sewer line under our home. Once the line was replaced and the new slab poured, we installed new flooring in the the room and adjacent hallways. The ACDC crew did a wonderful job laying travertine to match the pattern we used during the kitchen reno. For good measure, we added new baseboards. Without a doubt, my next remodel project will go to ACDC."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

In Fort Smith, if your standby generator emits unusual noises after heavy rain, or you notice flickering lights when it runs, these are early warning signs. Persistent dampness around the unit, minor fuel leaks, or a generator that struggles to start after storms can quickly escalate. Pay attention to any burnt smells from your electrical panel or visible corrosion, as these often signal bigger repairs ahead.

Helpful?

In Fort Smith, enhance generator installation safety by placing the unit on a raised, secure pad to prevent water intrusion and accidental contact. Install fencing or landscaping barriers to keep children and pets away, and use sound-dampening enclosures to reduce noise near living spaces. Store propane or fuel in locked, ventilated areas, and add carbon monoxide detectors inside your home to monitor air quality during backup power use.

Helpful?

In Fort Smith, generator installation work often centers on main electrical panels and transfer switches, especially in older neighborhoods. HVAC systems and sump pumps are also frequent focus areas, given the region’s humidity and storm risk. Homes near the Arkansas River may need extra attention to outdoor wiring and backup power solutions for well pumps or basement equipment, ensuring reliable operation during outages.

Helpful?

In Fort Smith, generator installation projects can reveal hidden costs like electrical panel upgrades for older homes, trenching for new gas lines due to shifting clay soil, and extra site prep if your yard is prone to flooding. Backup power systems may also require specialized transfer switches or surge protection. Coordination with local utilities for standby generator hookups can sometimes lead to additional connection or inspection fees.

Helpful?

Before starting generator installation in Fort Smith, review local permitting and HOA requirements, and confirm your property’s soil drainage—especially if you’re near low-lying areas. Schedule utility mark-outs to avoid underground line issues, and discuss backup power needs with your utility provider. Vet contractors for experience with Fort Smith’s weather patterns and infrastructure, and compare multiple quotes to ensure you’re prepared for project-specific challenges.
