"I highly recommend. He showed up on time and went straight to work. He put down baseboards and quarter round, installed recessed lights, re-hung doors, and also did some plumbing work, and built and hung a door on outside building. We plan on having him come back in the spring to stain and repair deck. If you're looking for someone that you can trust and depend on doing the job right the first time. I highly recommend."

Customers say: Quick response

"Chris did a wonderful job painting and replacing my deck. When I had a question he would explain to me so I could understand, as I am not a carpenter. I would recommend Chris to anyone and would use him again. As a matter of fact, I already have. He will be putting in a new front door for me."

"Best decision ever. Aaron was very well versed in his knowledge of all the things I had him do. I was So glad to have found him. I had no worries of what he was doing or when he was doing it. I didn't have to check to see what he was doing. i didn't have to clean up behind him, and the big one, Was The Job Done Right?? And you can bet that it was..I didn't find one single thing that he didn't know about. Extremely trustworthy!! I had him doing work at my home while I was at work which was a big help to me as my husband passed away in the middle of these projects. But Aaron pulled through and worked with me to finish the projects.. Great guy...couldn't ask for any better.. and My Place Looks GREAT!!!!;"

"My deck was old and falling apart. Over half the boards needed replaced as well as the hand rail. David did an efficient job at removing all of the old/rotten wood and got it cleared from my property the same day! He did excellent work on rebuilding my deck then went on to stain and seal it. I am so pleased with his work. David paid great attention to detail on the stain, getting all the cracks and crevices of the spindles on the railing and even the underside of the boards around the edge. I will be referring all of my friends to him in the future!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

For the best results, stay off of your deck for at least 48 hours after sealing it. Giving the sealant at least two full days to cure ensures it can fully penetrate the wood, giving you the most protection from sun and weather damage later on. Walking on the deck too soon can prevent it from properly curing and cause your deck to weather prematurely.

Building a deck isn't too hard if you’re handy with carpentry, have the necessary tools, and are willing to put effort into it. However, other factors, such as plans, permits, and design, can be hard if you don’t have experience in those areas.

Note: You’ll need another person to help you build the deck (especially for framing and setting the beams). Building a deck yourself will be very difficult if you don’t have an extra set of hands to help.

Pressure-treated decking may be worth it if you want a natural, insect- and rot-resistant decking material that will last for decades with proper maintenance. As such, it’s a much better option than untreated pine. Alternative wood decking materials like cedar and redwood tend to be less durable and more expensive. Some homeowners prefer composite decking, which is a low-maintenance alternative to wood but is also more costly.

When staining a deck, don’t skip surface prep, avoid staining damp or dirty boards, and don’t apply stain in extreme heat, cold, or wet conditions. Never overload the wood with a stain, as too much can cause tackiness or peeling. Also, don’t forget to test a small area first to ensure the color and finish look right.

To flatten a cupped deck board, start by ensuring it’s dry. Then, try flipping the board over so the cupped side faces down and reattach it. If that’s not possible, you can use screws to pull it tighter to the joists or plane the edges slightly to reduce the cup. It’s best to replace severely cupped boards.
