The lighting master is a Christmas lighting and landscape lighting company that services Washington and Benton counties in Arkansas. We have been making homes and outdoor spaces beautiful at night since 1982. We only do Christmas and landscape lighting. For landscape lighting- We strive to make you feel safe and happy to come home when you pull up in your driveway at night. Questions we ask- Does your home look pitch dark at night? Can you or guests see to walk around your property? Would thieves see your home as an easy place to get into without being seen at night? Do you have trees that could be breathtaking if they were uplit at night? Does your back deck or patio have the perfect lighting for grilling or just having an intimate conversation with friends? We find lighting solutions to these questions and more. Our goal is to create a night time environment for our clients that is safe, secure, and satisfying. We have hundreds of references available on projects from $2k to $75k. We carry liability and workmans comp insurance, and all our work is guaranteed. Our initial consultation is free with an in-person appointment, with all decision makers please. We do not do "drop off bids" For Christmas lighting- we strive to make your home look nice, classy and not overdone. We have photos to show you the different products available to do the outline of your home up high, and we have the best wreaths and garland you can buy, period. Our wreaths and garland look great on homes because they have 3 kinds of foliage, real pine cones and have just the right amount of lights to look great at night. Our wreaths come in sizes from 3 feet to 12 feet in diameter, and we reccomend sizes based on the size of space decorated. If desired we can put mini lights in trees and shrubs, or line the drive or walk way for a dramatic entry to your home. We want you and others to look at your home and say "ahhh, that looks really nice" . In our initial free consultation, with all decision makers present, we ask questions of what you want your home to look like, and we make recommendations based on your desires. We do not do "drop off bids". We have done hundreds of projects in NWA from $1500 to $60k and references are available. Unlike much of our competition, We pay extra to be insured specifically to work with electricity on roofs and in trees, and we are happy to provide written proof from our insurance agent. If comparing bids, please ask and check our competition to do the same. In addition, All our employees are screened, trained and drug tested. We take the safety of your home very seriously, and we don't ask you to sign any kind of "waiver of liability". We just stand behind our work.

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Decorators often prefer artificial Christmas trees. They’re easier to handle and shape, and decorators don’t have to worry about bugs or allergies. It’s also an ideal choice because artificial trees keep up appearances without owners needing to schedule watering.

However, always confirm that decorators are ready to unbox and set up the artificial tree. If they don’t include tree set-up in their services, you may need to hire a general handyperson for that task.

If you need help with your holiday decorating, the first step is determining your lighting and decor needs to narrow down your pro options. For example, if you want a custom outdoor light display with all of the bells and whistles, you’ll likely need to hire a local holiday light installer who specializes in that service. But if you only need to hang some lights inside in hard-to-reach places, consider hiring a handyperson or an interior decorator instead. It’s best to contact at least three different companies for quotes and to find out what services they offer.

Good news, Christmas lovers: you can keep your lights up all year, provided you choose the type. It's critical that you choose holiday lights made for outdoor use, as these can withstand winter weather conditions. In addition, it's best to use LED lights instead of incandescent ones. LED bulbs can withstand temperature shifts and are energy efficient.

If you are considering leaving your holiday lights up year-round, ask your lighting installer about permanent installation. This project costs around $3,500 but gives you about six to 10 years of LED lights and adds a pleasing aesthetic to your home.

You can choose to hang Christmas lights on either gutters or shingles—either option is fine. If you have gutter covers, shingles may be your only option. But, all-in-one clips are designed for both applications.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.
