"I needed some new plants put in my flower beds, some dead shrubs replaced, as well as general maintenance and mulching. I found Zach at Creative to be very helpful and knowledgeable. His crew was efficient and did a good job. We walked the project upon completion and Zach did things on his own to make certain I was happy with the work. I would recommend Creative for your landscaping needs."

"I purchased the deal prior to Christmas and wasn't sure when I would have the work performed.  After contacting Done Right Landscaping, I was told that even if the 3 months term of the deal expired, they would still give me the credit toward the job.  We finally connected and on Saturday morning, the work began.  After first attacking the weeds, I was asked if I wanted (for an additional $10) the beds sprayed with preemergent.  I agreed, and only time will tell how well it works.  The beds had been neglected for some time, so I'm sure it was well worth the extra $10.  Then, the mulch was ready to be applied.   I then watched as the mulch was applied by hand, not just thrown.   I was impressed, and when it was all done, it looked great.  I was so glad that I called Done Right to do the job.  I'll certainly be calling them again for some other of my beds.

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Plant privet hedges at least 1 foot apart in a trench about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. It’s important to space privet hedges relatively far apart due to how quickly they grow to significant sizes and heights. You don’t want to crowd privet plants, or they could overcrowd each other, causing unwanted damage.

Yes, weeds can still grow in decomposed granite. If properly compacted, it can act as a good weed suppressant, meaning you’ll only pull weeds occasionally. But no ground cover is completely weed-proof. To further prevent weeds, you can try spraying your decomposed granite with distilled white vinegar.

In most cases, buying plants from a local greenhouse or nursery is well worth the investment, even though they tend to be a bit more expensive than those at a home improvement store. Employees at nurseries are usually well-versed in gardening and understand how the climate in your area affects different plants. They can help you make selections based on your skill level and time commitment to your landscaping, and they can provide detailed care instructions and advice to help keep your plants alive and diagnose and treat issues like pest infestation and illness.

A rock garden can last indefinitely as long as you properly maintain it. Whether solely made of rocks or with greenery incorporated, they generally last a while, though it may vary based on your climate.

If shade is a priority for you, then panting elm trees is a fine choice. A full mature elm tree has enough aesthetic appeal for some folks that it could add value to your home.

That said, never plant elm trees too close to your home, sewer line, or sidewalks, as their roots can damage these, which can lead to costly repairs.
