"The owner, Bobby Hammons, is a terrific guy and does EXCELLENT work at a reasonable and competitive price. I had him come out, look over my dirty gutters (that I had tried to clean them myself without much success); he was able to use his knowledge and experience to come up with a cleaning solution that was better than the gutter cleaners that had been recommended and available through such home improvement places such as Home Depot and Lowe's. He and Josh, his assistant, came out, and worked diligently to get rid of the mildew, dirt and streaking and did it in a matter of just a couple of hours. They were even kind enough to go up on my roof and fix a piece of outside lining to my chimney that had worked itself lose without charge. I'm planning on having Bobby come back out later in the summer and do several other jobs. The first is to power spray my drive way; the second is to thoroughly clean and seal the tile floors in our kitchen and master bath. Heck, it seems they do just about everything when it comes to cleaning floors, carpets and of course, gutters/siding. If you hire Mr. Hammons I would say without fear of doubt you will be very happy and satisfied with the quality, price and promptness of his work. Do yourself a favor: hire the man and his company. You won't go wrong."

"The price was fair and they were able to start almost immediately. Asked the installer multiple times to cover his work area as to not scratch our new wood floors. Of course, he scratched the floors in multiple places. Attempted to contact the owner and he was non responsive on the issue. The unit was installed in September, come October and need to turn the heat on for the first time and there was loud clanging and metal noises. Called to have someone from this company service the unit on Friday afternoon and was told that “it isn’t that cold that it would be Monday before we could look at it” (it was 40 degrees and this is a BRAND NEW unit). Brought up that had we went with a larger company they would send someone out and they do not work after hours or weekends and was basically told you get what you pay for. I would not use this company again in the future. Will probably regret making this post when we need service again in the future."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Wood floors should be polished every two to four months to maintain a shine and to keep them protected from daily wear and tear. More frequent maintenance includes dry mopping the floors daily and cleaning spills immediately, using a spray mop and cleaner weekly to remove any built up dirt or grime, and sanding and refinishing the floors every three to five years.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.

If your floor is still sticky after mopping, chances are you used too much or too little of the cleaning solution. Using too little won’t get all of the grime off, but using too much can leave its own residue. Refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions and dilute it as directed.
