"He's finishing up today. They had to remove four extremely large trees and they trimmed one tree. They laid plywood on the grass and other surfaces so they wouldn't damage the yard. They were extremely polite and very professional. When they took the trees down, they removed the stumps completely. I plan on using them anytime I have tree trimming or removal needs, and I would recommend them to anybody."

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves. 

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength.
