"This is one of the worst hvac companies we dealt with. We paid them $384 to do an air balance test. It's been almost two weeks and we still don't have the results. I have called them more than five times and I still can't get the report or even just the numbers from our testing. And every time I've called I have to call back at least a couple of times because the receptionist hangs up on me every time she puts me on hold. With every phone call I make I'm assured that the VP of Operations, Brian, will call back. Yesterday afternoon Amber told me he would call back in 5 min as soon as he was off a phone call. He still hasn't called back. I understand these businesses don't care about customers and only about money, but when you pay them hundreds of dollars you would think they would at least get you the piece of paper you paid them for. You should be fine. Most high-grade grinder pumps have a 24-hour holding capacity within the tank. You can continue to use the facilities so long as the power outage does not stretch into days. In a worst-case scenario, attach a generator to the grinder pump, providing it has sufficient electric capacity.

If you have a self-cleaning washing machine but you’re still seeing lint, your water pump filter might be clogged. To clean it, you should unscrew the drain hose, then remove the water pump filter. From there, you can inspect it and clean it with warm water before replacing it. Check to be sure your washing machine is functioning by running a short cycle. 

There are several things you can do to maintain your sump pump and prevent sump pump problems. For instance, keeping a lid on your sump pit goes a long way in protecting your pump system from silt, sand, dirt, and other debris. When water drains from the outside, such as along your foundation, or with melting snow, water runoff often brings sediment with it. 

Also be wary of corrosion, particularly if your sump pump system is made of metal. Keep an eye out for rust and have it inspected regularly by a plumber or sump pump technician.

If your sump pump has burnt out or malfunctioned before the end of its expected lifespan, you should be able to notice a few warning signs. Running constantly, making strange noises or vibrations, or ceasing to function altogether are all clear signs that your sump pump is due for replacement. You should also replace the sump pump if you notice any signs of incorrect installation.

You will need an ejector pump if your plumbing is below the level of your municipal sewer line. Regular plumbing moves wastewater via gravity, whereas plumbing located below grade can’t rely on gravity to move sewage waste. An ejector pump is needed to provide extra movement to push sewage and wastewater through the pipes. Otherwise, gravity will cause a sewage overflow to occur.
