"The team here at SouthernDry specializes in Foundation Repair, Basement Waterproofing, Crawl Space Encapsulation and drainage. We serve most of Alabama, including Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, as well as western Georgia.\nIf you are concerned about foundation problems or wet basement problems, we offer free evaluations to both homeowners and businesses. This free evaluation also includes a custom project plan at no additional cost. \nWe are not a ""big box"" company. We never hire subcontractors to meet demand. We are a small group of experienced local industry professionals that rely on word of mouth and online reviews to support our business. This allows us to spend more time on each project and carefully craft custom project plans. \nWe offer high-end repairs and service quality, but we don't sponsor major sports teams and you wont see our ads on TV, which allows us to offer affordable pricing. \nWe stand by our work and back it with a Lifetime Warranty. If something goes wrong, you can rest assured we'll be back to fix it."\n

"The men arrived bright and early, tools in hand.  They ran a new hot water pipe under my house.  They put plastic up on a large side porch for us, and then checked the water pipe for leaks before they left.  They did a great job, and were finished quickly.  Although I originally hired Mr Coleman to take care of my yard, I also depend on Rent-a-Man for all our plumbing and construction needs. "

First Step Environmental is a family owned business that has operated in Alabama for many years and also travels around the country when our services are needed during natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados and ice storms. Our employees are very polite and knowledgeable on their scope of work. Our equipment is late model, well maintained and ready to do the job. Our normal operation area is most of south Alabama, north Florida and southwest Georgia. We remove all types of trees and vegetation even in the hardest to get to areas. We also prune or trim orchards and fence rows and do land clearing and burning services.

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Avoid flushing non-degradable items, schedule regular inspections, and address minor clogs promptly.

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain.

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels.

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

If you drop jewelry down your sink, it can cause a clog, especially if it accumulates other debris on its way down. However, that is the least of your worries if you drop your favorite jewelry down your drain. If your gold band goes tumbling down the sink drain, don’t panic—refrain from running more water down the sink, and follow the steps above.

Professional plumbers use many high-grade chemicals to unclog drains. Many use hydrochloric acid, known as muriatic acid, when it comes to extreme blockages.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.
