"Mr. Gill was punctual! Yes, that should be a given but really it's the exception to the rule when dealing with contractors! Personally, I will not hire a contractor who is late for appointments or fail to follow up. but Mr. Gill was there, on time. Mr. Gill followed up to make sure I was fully informed about his schedule and when he would be able to provide his services. Again, he did exactly what he said he would when he said he would do it and did a fine job. I will be using him in the future and would recommend him to anyone who needs his services."

"They did a really great job. They were able to squeeze me in quickly. They mowed grass, weeded, trimmed bushes, trimmed trees, blowed off driveway, sidewalk and back porch. And they were super nice. I will be using them for my regular yard maintenance from now on."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Mowing a lawn will, unfortunately, not get rid of clover, and it may even encourage it to flourish. Let your lawn grow to a healthy height of over 3 inches and then set your mower blades no lower than this level. Higher grass will cut out the light that clover loves and discourage it from spreading.

You should add 1 to 4 inches of mulch, depending on your garden type and needs. Keep in mind that no amount of mulch can completely prevent weeds, but a heavier coverage (closer to 4 inches) can suppress weeds enough that you are only seeing them sprout every few weeks. Finer mulch prevents weeds more effectively than large mulch, so if you’re using mulched leaves or shredded bark, 1 to 2 inches will likely suffice, while 3 to 4 inches is best for larger mulch, like bark chips or straw.

The main problem with crabgrass is that it produces thousands of seeds that can remain dormant until the following season. To get rid of it, you have to remove existing plants before they have a chance to spread seeds and stop old seeds from germinating.

Clover lawns stand up better against dog and cat urine than traditional turfgrass. If your pets love to hang out on the lawn on a sunny day—or if you find yourself with a lot of visiting neighborhood dogs—you could save yourself from yellow and brown patches by making the switch to a clover lawn.

Yellow patches, poor growth, or widespread weeds indicate a need for treatment. Soil testing can confirm nutritional deficiencies that require intervention.
