"Jared responded very quickly, was very professional, and let me know that while he had other calls in front of me, I was a priority and that he would make sure he came out to fix my problem. He was up front about the process and the pricing every step of the way. My situation turned out to be much more involved than originally expected. He explained the diagnostic process so that I could understand what he was doing and why he was doing it. His work was thorough, careful, and he even insisted on cleaning up the floors throughout the house before he left. He went above and beyond and I appreciate everything he did and how exceptionally professional he was throughout! Very much worth the very reasonable cost and I will always use him for any other plumbing issue I encounter. Highly recommend!!!"

"In March 2020, Clean Team Plumbing repiped our home and installed a tankless water heater. Brad was professional and honest. Our service technicians Artis and Lazurus were great and their workmanship was beyond reproach. All my questions and concerns were answered timely and professionally. The drywall team was top notch. Thank you Clean Team Plumbing for the great job."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

The best practice is to clean the sewer drain lines in your home once a year or every two years. Older homes could require more frequent maintenance. Keeping up on cleaning your sewer lines can prevent severe clogs, help ensure your system is working properly, and prevent expensive repairs.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

There are several homemade solutions for clearing a clogged sink that don’t involve pouring harsh chemicals down your drain. Start by pouring hot (but not boiling) water down the drain. This can help dissolve and flush away grease and gunk. A splash of dish soap down the drain can also cut through fat and make it easier to clear the drain. For a more stubborn blockage, grab a plunger and give it a few firm pumps to dislodge the clog.
