I have been working for my grandfather who builds custom homes and I have just started my own LLC and trying to get things going. I have my Alabama Home Builders License. I can do anything from small jobs like decks or replacing doors/ windows to big jobs like remodeling houses or building them from the ground up.
"Al was very kind and straightforward. He did initially tried to charge me a little more than the average for the area but after I explained that I had done research for the labor costs and already have materials he got the cost significantly also mention that you found him on Angie's List. I am very pleased with how the floor looks they did a very quick job some very weird layouts because my house is strange though I love its eccentricity. Though it takes a long time to book him because he is usually busy he works very fast, but not sloppily, and the work was completed in approximately 4 days with a small crew of three one of whom was his son. we are almost done with most of our work but I'm a call him back for some minor repairs thing that needs to be completed the only complaint I have is that at least one of the workers is a smoker and I found a few cigarette butts in my yard or in the bushes next to where they were sawing which was not very pleasant. That is a minor complaint though because as contractors go they show up on time and they get the work done and they get the work done well; which, I don't know if you use very many contractors, is unusual and a good thing. Overall I would use them again in a heartbeat and I would suggest them to other people. "
I been working in construction business for almost 30 years I have the resource to do large jobs you can see some of my work on my website Brownconst334.com.I believe in doing quality work at reasonable prices. All my work is guaranteed. My partner has been doing Concrete for over 30 years.
"Scott was fantastic. We had a wide variety of jobs that needed to be done and he was excellent at every one of them. Everything from replacing light fixtures, replacing faucets, putting in new drywall that had been damaged, and putting down luxury vinyl plank in our upstairs hallway. Scott even showed me how to do a couple of the jobs myself to help us save money. Very down to earth, very personable and a very hard worker!! There wasn't a job in the house that he could not do. And he is coming back when we buy a new over-the-counter microwave to put that in as well as a new dish washer. And on top of everything he is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend Scott and XSpan contractors."
"From the first day at the foreclosure home "One Call Roofing" did it all and did it all correct. As I mentioned above the work was done perfect from tile in three bathrooms and large pantry, electrical rewire of most of the house, re sheetrocking of major torn down walls, screening of large portion. The tiles were perfect as anyone could imagine. All of the demo was carted away and all spaces cleaned. They basically have refinished most of my house at a competitive price..If I had any questions I never waited more than 20 min for a recall and question answered. No one has ever been this prompt. At my sold home same story..Why trust anyone else when these guys can do anything you want. Any job and it appears no job was to small. The repaired gutters that were tilted wrong and caused a major leak in my basement, window cracks and hard ware.. My next job will be doing a metal roof on the foreclosed home. And who am I calling? One Call Roofing Team. I have already gotten a quote for 3000 sq foot home, large barn, tool room and carport. Their price was competitive and to tell the truth even if they had been a bit high I would use them anyway. I don't want any problems and or stress and this is what One Call Roofing does the best..they take the stress off you and do the job..You don't have to follow them around to see if the job is done correctly..it is inspected by the managers at One Call before any money exchanges hands.. I am really happy with Angie's List...I found this contractor and a tree service that was exceptional..Without Angie's list I would have had to find someone to do all this work. In the past I have not been fortunate enough to find the right people..jobs half completed, shabby work, not showing up, no communications and overpriced...Call One Call Roofing and as the name implies you will only make One Call..they will handle the rest..Great company...Next the roof, and next the siding...One Call is in my future...give them a call..it will be the last you make if looking for good contractors.."

Balcony construction or replacement typically requires a building permit from your local permitting authority. Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.
One of the most common house framing basics for decades has been using wood for the framing work. However, some framing contractors now suggest using steel frames. Steel is lightweight, resistant to fire, and resistant to moisture, all of which are areas where wood framing could cause problems. However, steel framing is more expensive than wood and limits your ability to insulate the home.
Professionals charge between $60 and $95 per hour to install ornamental porch columns. The amount of time they need varies based on the condition of the porch, whether they need to remove old columns, and if there is any damage to your porch's structure. This cost can increase if more issues come up during the installation process.
You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.
Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.
