"Trevor has been an amazing contractor who has helped us through the process of installing a large interior door for an office. He has helped ensure the space was properly prepared for installation of the door. The other contractors who have assisted Trevor have also exceeded my expectations. They have been extremely detail oriented and have done everything to ensure the best outcome. I would definitely work with Trevor for any future projects."
".The contractor assessed the source of the water leaking into our basement. He was adamant that he could not guarantee that his simple repair would work, but he wanted to try it before embarking on the expensive task of digging down and resealing the basement. Since the leak had just appeared recently (and after some gardening work in that area), we agreed to risk the $1000 to try to caulk up the holes and regraded the soil near the leak. They came on time, finished on time, worked neatly and, most importantly, seemed to be effective in the results of the repair. I definitely would use them again even though, I felt, that the little time that it took them to repair did not seem to be worth $1000. On the other hand, I do not really know what a fair price is."
"Mr Webb's work is very good and my wife and I are very pleased with his work, cost and work time. We have used Complete Home Repair for several small repairs this year and have always been very pleased. He shows up when he says he will and gets the job done. So when we planned this latest project, we did not hesitate to call them and in fact did not even think about any one else. We have in mind some other projects around here and will certainly call them first. We found Complete Home Repair on Angie's list and have even found others for HVAC etc. "
"He went over & beyond on the trim by doing more than I asked! He takes pride in his work, and always tries to satisfy his customers. Wayne is a perfectionist and he does an excellent job. Upon completion he asked that we walk around the house with him pointing out anything he may have overlooked. We purchased our paint and paid him in full when he finished. He is a very honest man!"
"Amanda was really very good! At first I was very skeptical, thinking why did I pay money to just speak with someone on the phone about my kitchen remodel project... but after just a few minutes of her addressing some of the issues/questions I emailed to her earlier, I knew it was worth it. It was very clear that she knew her business and she gave me several ideas that I had not even thought about. I told her that I would definitely recommend her to friends and I will very likely use her again myself for my next home project!

"The two men who came out, Ashley and Jay, were very personable. Their work was excellent and their prices are very fair. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends, in fact I sent them to my sisters, who needed some work on her home. It is hard to find contractors who show up when they say they will, do a great job and have fair prices, but Ashley did. I am most impressed with these two young men. Dr. Bunny Campbell"

Yes, most general contractors require an initial down payment, typically between 10% and 25% of the total project cost. This upfront payment helps cover the costs of materials, permits, and subcontractors. The remaining project costs are usually billed after specific project milestones are reached or on set completion dates, as outlined in your contract. Be wary of contractors who require a significant deposit of 50% or more upfront, as this could be a red flag for a scam.
If you have the woodworking experience to build a bar from scratch and you have the time, DIYing the work is a no-brainer and can save a few thousand dollars. However, if you’re looking to include a sink, additional lighting fixtures, or high-end bar tops and cabinets, it’s usually a better idea to call in a pro. It will cost more, but the finished product will likely be worth it.
Yes, most general contractors require an initial down payment. A reasonable deposit is typically between 10% and 25% of the total project cost, although this can vary by project size and location. This upfront payment helps the contractor cover initial costs like materials, permits, licensing, and hiring subcontractors. The remaining balance is usually billed according to a schedule outlined in your contract, often tied to project milestones or completion dates. Be cautious of contractors who ask for a large deposit of 50% or more, as this could be a red flag for a scam.
A finished basement must have a heat and electrical supply with an entrance that meets building code requirements, such as a stairwell to the home's main living space. It often must include finished walls, ceilings, and floors. If the finished basement includes a bedroom, it should have a heat source, an egress window, and a closet.
Remodeling, as opposed to finishing, means altering an already finished basement by adding a bathroom, bedroom, or living area.
While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.
