I am a former licensed home builder. I am now a one stop shop for most home repair needs. I can generally get the job done. I have been in the trades for over 30 years I am Semi retired. I still enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done so here I am. I work alone, no employee's. My work ranges from first class upscale homes to rental repair. I use proper cleaning products for home pressure washing. I use proper paint products for painting. I am consciencious and thourough in my general repairs. I have owned rental properties. I can repair most rental damage, as well as offer suggestions on potential future damage. My prices are reasonable. I do charge for an estimate which the charge is taken off the bill if accepted and the repair is over $200.00. The estimate charge is; $35.00. I also offer job site supervision for an hourly agreed rate or consulting on a project . I am confident that even if you do not hire me to perform the work. My advice and experience are a very fair value. I have photo's of work performed and will be adding reviews of customers as I go along.

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

If you’re installing new wallpaper and have leftover glue, you can remove unused wallpaper paste from the bucket or pan it’s in by letting it dry. If it’s an oil-based paste, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage. Otherwise, toss the leftover wallpaper paste in the trash. Although it’s water-soluble, don’t rinse unused wallpaper paste down the sink because it could dry in the pipes and cause a blockage.

It’s best to remove wallpaper rather than paint over it. You should only paint over wallpaper if removing it would damage the wall, the surface is relatively smooth, or there are minimal problem areas—such as slight peeling and lifted seams—that you can fix easily. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it can create more problems if the wallpaper is in poor condition and you don’t properly prep the area for painting. Depending on the state of the wallpaper, color, and textures could show through, and moisture from the paint could loosen the adhesive, causing unsightly bubbling.

Removing wallpaper can be easy if you have a non-coated wallpaper, but most homeowners have vinyl-coated wallpaper, which is more durable but tears very easily during the removal process. This feature makes it challenging and time-consuming to remove most wallpaper. There are tools to speed up the process, like steamers, but, unfortunately, it’s easy to permanently damage your walls when using them. In most cases, it’s best to hire a professional wallpaper remover to get the job done quickly and without damaging your home.

Yes, you can pay someone to strip wallpaper. Before you hang new wallpaper, you should hire a local wallpaper removal service to prep the surface properly. Wallpaper removal pros cost $0.55 to $1.50 per square foot or $500 to $700 per room. Prices vary by room size and removal technique, as some options are more labor-intensive.

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.
