"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Mr. Klein come to my home to give me and estimate on painting the outside of my house and give me and estimate on a new shingle roof.  I was not looking to put a metal roof on but he assured the quality of the metal roof compared to the quality and legivity of a shingled roof. Turns out I took his word and went with the metal roof.. that in which i am much more satisfied with compared to the look of how my home looked prior to Mr. Klein and his workers I am very pleased. After signing the initial contract with Mr. Klein he ensured me that him and his crew would get started on it as soon as they could weather permitting.  Within just a couple of days they started and finished my roof and the painting. I was very satisfied with the way him and his workers conducted themselves. The job was well laid out and very tidy considering that it was a roof and paint job. I will definately call him back for my next project."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

Hidden expenses during home building include mandatory termite soil pre-treatments and extensive crawl space mold remediation. Excavation uncovers unmarked underground utility lines that demand immediate relocation. Unstable clay soils require engineered fill or specialized foundation piers. Permitted work also triggers retroactive code compliance, forcing you to upgrade older electrical panels and plumbing systems to meet current Dothan standards.

Helpful?

Moisture management is highly sensitive during home building due to heavy rainfall and high humidity. Poorly installed vapor barriers or improper crawl space ventilation lead directly to mold. Foundation footings require precise sizing to withstand shifting clay soils. Undersized or oversized HVAC systems fail to control indoor humidity. Finally, strict termite-resistant construction details are mandatory to protect your property against AL pests.

Helpful?

Your property is an excellent candidate for home building if it features a stable concrete slab or a dry, well-ventilated crawl space. Flat lots with adequate property line setbacks simplify the construction process. Conversely, active foundation movement, standing water under the house, or location within a Dothan flood zone introduce significant structural challenges that require resolution before starting any new additions.

Helpful?

Look for wood rot or mold in your crawl space, as high humidity quickly damages unprotected framing. Inspect exterior caulking and siding for gaps or warping caused by heavy rainfall. Check for sticking doors or diagonal wall cracks, indicating the foundation shifted on expansive clay soils. Examine roof repairs for exposed nails or mismatched shingles left over from past severe storms in Dothan.

Helpful?

Homeowners consistently underestimate the time required for multi-phase permitting and plan reviews. Soil testing and site preparation demand careful attention, as flat topography masks poor drainage. Projects in AL flood zones require strict elevation compliance and stormwater management. Additionally, summer heat and humidity dictate strict seasonal windows for pouring concrete and applying exterior paint, which extends your overall project timeline.
