"Eric was very helpful and assured me that Cody could come out to connect my Buddy meter to my irrigation system. While Cody was here he was able to help me with one other need I had in my flower bed. I would recommend Thompson Service. 10 out of 10 👍 Trustworthy and dependable."

"Called them on a Saturday. The owner came to my house within a half hour, gave me an estimate and said that he would return within the hour with tools and materials. His crew arrived, assessed the problems, told me what I needed, explained the repair process and proceeded. The young men were extremely knowledgeable and very fast. The installed new parts, checked all the old ones and got my system working perfectly. I would highly recommend this crew for any yard project. Dr. Miller"

"Hurricane Sally completely destroyed my den. Ridlon Contracting demolished the remaining structure and completely rebuilt my den for a very affordable and fair price. Ronnie was very responsive and honest regarding the extent of the damage and what it would take to restore it to code. The end product was superb! Ridlon is the real deal!"

"WildGray went above and beyond with removing my old sod and laying down new sod, yard was eroded from Sally and we put the pressure on them to get it done. Looks so good and we are really happy. All the neighbors coming by to take a look. Would recommend to anybody. Very down to earth and professional."

"To hire Daniel and his company Catalina Land Management to clear about six acres in the middle of 13 acres on my property in DeFuniak Florida. They did an outstanding job and within a week I had five acre plot graded out smoothly with next to no extra roots left to pick up. Site was clean no trash or debris left behind. I wish I could say the same about the company that built the home. Will definitely work with them again if ever needed in the future"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Depth is not a qualifying component of evacuation. Any human-made cut, cavity, or depression in the earth’s surface is considered excavation. The hole from excavation can be any size, shape, or depth. Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, drainage ditches, and roads. Long, narrow excavations are called trenches and are often used for underground utilities.

While you can save some money by digging your own pool, you may end up paying more in construction equipment rental fees in the long run. You could, however, focus your DIY energies on lowering the cost of leveling your lawn for your pool or filling in surrounding landscaping after construction.

Dumpsters work best on hard, study, and level surfaces made of asphalt, stone, or concrete. If the surface is uneven or too soft, the dumpster could get stuck or tip over when filled. Keep in mind that you must obtain a dumpster permit to keep it on a city street in many areas.

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.

Most residential basements are 8 to 10 feet deep. You can dig deeper depending on building codes, but it does become more difficult. You’ll likely need to install stronger foundation walls and additional supports to handle the increased load. Depending on the water table, you may also need a water management system. Clay soil can support a deeper foundation than sandy soil. A structural engineer will be able to tell you the maximum, feasible depth.
