"Bill removed old tub in one bath, built tile shower with bench and tiled floor. Also Bill built tile shower and tiled floor in new master bath. Bill was always on time, very nice person, honest and takes pride in his work and it shows. If we need tile work again he is our go to person. Silicone caulk shouldn’t be used in place of grout because each material serves its own purpose. Thanks to its flexibility, silicone caulk is good for sealing around the perimeter of tiled floors, where movement and expansion might occur. However, grout is more durable, making it a better option for the joints in between tiles, which need to withstand constant weight and foot traffic.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter.
