"Customer service was great, Don installed a new HVAC system for me, quoted me a price that was very reasonable. Also before I made the decision on the brand to go with, Don gave me his experience with each of the brands I was considering, I was very confident in the one I chose. I've called I've called Don on Saturday and Sunday with AC issues in the past and he has always come out that day. After the new installation, Don called me a few days later just to make sure all was well with the system. I highly recommend this company."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The right type of HVAC system will depend on several factors, including your climate, budget, preferences, and existing HVAC setup. For example, if you live in an area that experiences extreme weather, then a split system would likely be the best option. Or, if budget is a concern, consider installing a ductless system in just one room.

To make the most out of your AC, consider implementing the following best practices:

  • Choose the right size AC for your home to ensure your unit runs as efficiently as possible.

  • Choose a window with shade, as direct sunlight can cause your AC unit to overheat.

  • Clean or replace the filter at least every two months.

  • Inspect the AC’s fan and straighten it if necessary.

  • Discontinue use immediately if you suspect a malfunction, as running the AC while broken can lead to significant issues.

  • Turn off (or adjust the temperature) when you leave the house.

If your HVAC system's capacity doesn't match the required CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), imbalances can occur. An undersized system struggles to maintain desired temperatures, leading to discomfort. An oversized system might short-cycle, wasting energy and causing temperature fluctuations. Properly matching capacity to CFM ensures efficient and consistent heating, cooling, and home ventilation system performance.

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.

Most HVAC surge protectors last about three to five years, depending on how often your home experiences blackouts or brownouts. If your unit is susceptible to more frequent electrical surges, consider replacing your surge protector every two years. Consult your HVAC professional to determine when and how often to replace your HVAC surge protectors.
