"I spoke Terminix and Orkin first I usually prefer the familiarity of huge companies...boy was wrong. They asked no questions or empathy...when do u want us to come ....can't quote the rate over phone or even give me ballpark figure. So I used Home Advisor for the first time. When I got call from Tri City Termite and Pests Control they was very thorough. They asked very relevant questions and very knowledgeable. I set up a plan for monthly service that day because I received price that same day. Great Experience!"

"I thought there's squirrels in my attic. Jim came to the house to give me an estimate. He told me that I have roof rats in the attic . He recommended I call a pest control company since he was not specialized in rats problem. He is very decent and professional. Would highly recommend him for any problem you might have."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Earwigs are omnivores, so they have a varied diet. Generally, they feast on decaying organic matter, leaves, flowers, and vegetables. They’ll also eat other insects (dead or alive) like aphids, sowbugs, and mites.

Yes, predator decoys work to keep birds away, at least temporarily. However, if the decoy remains motionless in the same spot for a long enough time, the birds will eventually wise up and realize it's a fake. Keep changing the location of the predator decoy to ensure that the birds keep their guard up and maintain their distance.

It’s very rare to find mice in a bed frame or mattress outside of the most extreme infestation scenarios. That said, your bedroom isn’t off limits for mice if it offers them shelter, food, and warmth. Look for any gaps or openings a mouse could squeeze into, and don’t keep food in your bedroom.

You're more likely to find a hobo spider outside rather than inside your home. If you do find one in your home, don't panic. You can remove the spider by catching it in a glass or cup and transporting it outside. You may also vacuum up the spider and remove it by emptying the vacuum bag.

If you notice more than one spider, it may be a good idea to hire a local pest control company to check out the situation and recommend a course of action.

For a non-chemical bed bug treatment, you can try spraying your mattress with a mixture of essential oils, rubbing alcohol, and water. Pesticide sprays are available, but using them can pose potential health risks to humans and pets—especially if they are not applied correctly. If non-chemicals do not eradicate your bed bug infestation, you should consult a pest control specialist to determine the best course of action.
