"Yes Isaac was prompt in getting with us, showed up almost everyday or called. Very reliable and competent. He listens well and also gave good input on how he wanted to do this job. Overall I am very pleased with the work he did. He's a good welder and was open to what I wanted done too."

We are a family owned and operated, full service plumbing, heating, thawing and septic pumping company with over 140 years of combined knowledge and experience. We offer commercial, residential, new construction, remodel, service work and energy efficiency upgrades. Our heat technicians are certified and licensed to work on all makes and models from System 2000 to Toyo. Our plumbers, apprenctices and technicians do everything from completely plumb-in houses and office buildings to remove clogs and clean and inspect pipes.

"I called three months ago to have an expansion tank and zone switches replaced on my boiler. They did not bring out any parts in order to repair. So they come out a second time to do the job. Was it fixed? No, zone switch failed and they left the water off for the basement. Third time they came out they admitted the expansion tank was bad, finally, replaced it, added some glycol to further run up the bill. And now again we are without heat. No problems with furnace for 6+ years until GPS came out and since it has been nothing but problems. Stupidly tried a fourth time to get them to come fix it, but the receptionist was rude and not wanting business. So, I give up. Do not give these folks your business, you will be sorry. Go somewhere else."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Real stone is exactly what it sounds like: It’s real stone sourced from the earth without additives. It is durable and unique, but it’s difficult to work with because of its weight, challenge in sourcing, and high cost. Stone veneer mimics the look of real stone but is actually engineered with a mixture of Portland cement, natural minerals, and a colorant. While it’s more affordable and easier to work with, it’s less durable and may appear manufactured to the trained eye.

Choosing the right paint color for a major investment like painting the exterior brick on your house can be a daunting task. Perhaps the most important thing is to find painted brick houses that you like and replicate the look by researching their colors and asking the homeowners for the paint color code. If all else fails, white-painted brick is a timeless, classic look that is unlikely to go out of style.

Two types of masonry are veneer masonry and solid masonry. Veneer masonry is thin brick or stone material attached to the face of a building. With veneer masonry, the walls support the weight of the masonry products rather than the masonry being built on a concrete footing. Solid masonry is a wall or other brick or stone structure built on a concrete footing, and the masonry supports itself.

Handbuilt masonry fireplaces are likely what comes to mind when we think about curling up by the fire at the end of the day. But bricks in the firebox and chimney tend to be heavy, which is not ideal for homes with weak or damaged foundations.

Prefabricated fireboxes come with a full flue and chimney system, significantly reducing the price and installation time. However, if you need to replace the panels down the line, you are locked into the same model or something very similar.

Some cracking in bricks is normal, such as when a foundation settles. Keep a watchful eye though, and alarm bells should start ringing if new cracks appear or existing cracks lengthen or widen. Temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can all contribute to cracks in bricks either starting or getting worse.
