  • Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
We got up this morning to discover that the toilet was backing up. Not exactly what you need to happen on a Sunday moring. I called Roto-Rooting Plumbing and Drain Services. Brian called me almost immediately after I called the office. Within 30 minutes, he was at my house. Unbeknowst to me, our daughter had flushing feminine products down the toilet. As most plumbers will tell you, these products do not dissolve. Brian worked very **** ** roto-rooting the side yard where I have a clean out. I also have a clean out in the front yard. The clean out on the side yard was disgusting. For the sake of decency, I will not go into detail, but what he was pulling out was disgusting. This still did not fix the problem, so he accessed the clean out in the front yard repeating the same steps. He hit a blockage that he could not seem to penetrate. He changed bits, repeated the process, as well as the side yard again. In the meantime, my wife had been running water in bathroom sink and bath, as well as the kitchen, in addition to running water in the bathtub. As a last measure, he also inserted my yard hose down the clean out. He was basically at the point of giving up when it dislodged. He was here on a Sunday, sweating profusely, but finally prevailed. I was very happy that he was able to resolve the issue. The next step would have involved sending another crew tomorrow moring to insert a camera in the sewer lines to detect the point of blockage. Fortunately, through determination and perseverance, he succeeded around 5pm. Brian had a lot of tenacity and stick-to-itive-ness, so I was very happy with the outcome and work

It went wonderful. Alex was punctual, articulate and help me realize that I do not have a septic tank. He ran a long snake through the clean out and cleared the clog that was about 60 or 70 feet in. It now drains fine.

  • Maeser Master Services
they are really good and I like their work. they are efficient, reasonably priced and they have came in and worked until 8 or 9 past their time. when we had the sewer stopped up we had flooding in the basement and it was almost 5 o'clock they said they would get someone right out there and they didn't charge me any after hours fee's. I was just really pleased, they left the place clean they wore boodys so they wouldn't track any thing where they were walking. they also did some work on my rental property and there was a leak and since it was their work so they didn't charge anything and make it right

The only thing that bothered me was one of the workers was wearing his booties outside and then going in the house and tracking dirt all over as it had been raining off and on all day. Otherwise they were very nice and very professional.

Overall the job went very well. So far, we have had no issues. Chad and Steve polite and professional as they worked. They were also patient enough to explain each of the steps they were taking and to answer questions from a curious customer. This professionalism was made more difficult given the job was severely underbid (due to an underestimation of work that would be needed) and was likely not a pleasant one to work on. After arriving at our home under the impression that the job would only take 2 or 3 days, it quickly became apparent that it would take over a week. Nonetheless, they always remained positive and reassured us that they would be able to complete the job and we would not be charged in excess of the contract we signed (which thus far has been true). They even were kind enough to reseed an area that they personally did not tear up in replacing our sewer line. My only complaint would be with the communication from the main office. Oftentimes, my wife and I were unable to be home while work was being done so we couldn't talk with Chad or Steve. After several days of this and realizing the job would not, in fact, be done in the 2 or 3 days as estimated, I finally called the office to get an update. To my surprise, the folks in the office were aware of what was going on and even had an updated completion date estimate. I would have appreciated a phone call from the main office when they realized this change. I understand they don't give out phone numbers of the folks working the jobs for their protection. As that's the case, I believe it is the main office's responsibility to keep the customer abreast of any changes from the timing/work that was estimated. Overall, I was pleased with the work and glad that Chad and Steve were assigned to our property. I'd read/heard several reviews that warned against the company attempting to come up with ways to bill in excess of the agreed upon rate. Chad was quick to assure me that wouldn't happen and that the work would still be done in a quality manner

  • Tom Drexler Plumbing Air & Electric
Since problem was at the point where my house line entered the sewer main, the sewage company contacted the plumber under contract (not Drexler) to diagnose/finish the job.

Called on Tuesday afternoon. Made appointment for Wednesday morning. Office called and because the technician was tied up with a gas repair arranged to delay until 3 - 5 PM. Chuck Krekel the technician came on time. I described the problem of when I flushed the upstairs toilet it overflowed out of the first floor toilet. He proposed that it could be a plugged line or the septic tank was backing up. He asked if I wanted to have him snake the line out or have the septic tank pumped first. I chose to have the line snaked out. He opened the clean out and tried to snake the line out. The snake would not go past about 4 foot. He used a smaller head with the same problem. He showed me the break in the line outside of the basement wall. He did not have the materials and camera to do the work. He provided me a worst case estimate for repair of $1600. We arranged for him to return on Thursday morning at 9:30. Because the line is below my deck I spent the evening removing the deck boards so Chuck would have access to dig up the sewer line. Chuck returned on Thursday morning with Ryan to assist him. They found the broken cast iron pipe. It looked like it had been broken a long time. I did wonder why my sump pit smelled like sewage and it was because the broken line allowed the sewage to travel down the concrete basement wall to the sump. Chuck removed the cast iron pipe up to the beginning of the plastic sewage pipe. The line from the beginning of the plastic pipe up to the septic tank was sewer looked at with sewer video cam and found to be in good shape. Chuck showed me the break and called me to watch the video of the sewer line. The repair was done with new plastic pipe, rubber sleeve from cast iron to plastic and at Chuck's suggestion a clean out was added outside of the basement in case of future problems. Chuck and Ryan were very professional and had their booties on when ever they entered the house. The bill was reduced with the coupon magnet that we had and special that Drexler had on drain cleaning. I think the price was fair based on the amount of time and material that they used

Everything was done quickly and efficiently. Very professional. Had used another company for several years. They were very expensive & didn't solve the problem. Drexler took care of the problem in one visit and cost 1/3 the cost of previous company. I will be using Drexler for any & all future needs!

  • Dauenhauer Plumbing
Dauenhauer was AMAZING through what turned out to be a very complicated and difficult situation, due to no fault of their own. Alan came out and dug out the broken pipe, replaced the broken section, found a second broken section and replaced it, added an access point, and snaked the line as far as he could. He called out a colleague, Bob, who has the heavier equipment, and had Bob put a camera down to find where the block was. Bob discovered that the block was actually on my neighbor's property. Surprise! Apparently, when my house was built in 1900, they used to join two houses' drainage pipes together before joining the city sewer system. So my pipe joined the neighbors just across the property line, and then much further down there was an impassable block. Without legal documents from the neighbor, we couldn't do anything further. Theoretically, the responsibility to fix the block was on them. So, naively, I called the neighbor's property manager (I own my house, my neighbors rent), thinking that she would of course want to repair a plumbing blockage in her line. Instead, the property manager absolutely refused to do the repairs necessary to fix their own plumbing line. Since my house was lower, they also continued to run water down their drains, causing their sewage to back up to my house. Delightful. To make a very long story short, she consistently lied to me, to Dauenhauer, and to the renters. Because the lines were completely blocked, I was not able to put any water down my drains without it backing up onto the property. The property manager next door stonewalled for two weeks. Dauenhauer regularly checked back in to see if the neighbor had fixed the block, and after a couple check-ins they escalated to their Customer Service Specialist, Amy, who is fantastic. She worked directly with the Property Manager next door and coordinated with her supervisors and with the plumbers who had come out to my house to try to figure out all the possible options to find a solution for me. Two weeks after they first came out - during which time I had made absolutely zero progress trying to get the landlord to actually repair their own property, even after getting the city involved - Dauenhauer had managed to get the property manager to give them permission to go onto her property to do the work. Steve and Bob came out, snaked the entire line (130 feet!) through some very difficult clogs, and got me back up and running in just a couple hours. I could not believe how quickly they were able to help me resolve what just earlier this morning looked like an absolutely impossible situation. My only other option was to get my own access point to the city sewer and have Dauenhauer lay new plumbing from my house to the sewer. Due to the difficulties of working with the city sewage department, that would have been an easy 5-figure expense and a 4-6 week process. So you cannot imagine how delighted I am to have water for 2% what I thought I'd have to spend, two months before I thought I'd have it, and without having to sue the next door neighbor to fix it. Not only did Dauenhauer do great work, they consistently went above and beyond and did absolutely everything imaginable to help me get a solution as quickly as possible. Immensely appreciative and impressed!
