  • Tuckers Fencing and More

Matt Tucker is an excellent communicator who does high-quality work. Matt and Billy took the time to ensure that even the little things were done correctly to build a gate that will last. After talking through what I wanted and finalizing a design, he took the time to explain why he framed his gates in a specific way, how to properly seal and care for the wood, and any small issues they'd run into over the course of the job and how they'd chosen to adjust for them. Basically, I hope I get the chance to work with him again because he's a good guy who cares about his work/your project and it being done with craftsmanship. I have a lot of respect for these guys

We were very happy with quality of the work, the price, and the time it took to get it done. We especially appreciated the attention to detail. We will definitely contact this company to do work for us in the future.

  • Cardinal Fence & Security Inc

The absolute worst service I have experienced in my life! Stay away from doing business with this company. I requested assistance in repairs that were covered by the manufacture. I called, emailed and texted the owner for months. They would reply but never follow through. A year long process, I contacted the manufacturer directly and they shipped a replacement gate directly to my home. Although I did all of the work, Cardinal Fence scheduled to come and install on 8 occasions and never did! AGAIN, WORST SERVICE IN A LIFE TIME! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BAD BUSINESS

This is the second time I used Andy Oncall, and I was satisfied both times. I'm not really familiar with normal costs for these services, but felt it was well worth it just to get stuff taken care of. All jobs were completed in a timely manner and were exactly as I had asked.

Work went very well. Fence looks very nice. He put it up in one day which was great because I let my dogs run in the yard.

Provider did an excellent job. Good quality workmanship - he basically had to custom -build 2 gates. Had it all done in 1 day and cleaned up the work-area as well.

Papas construction did an amazing job on our fence. We needed one so badly due to our neighbors, and papas came and started right away, and had it done within a week. I will be calling them to come build my front porch as well.

Great! David Stillwell was quick to response to my inquiry; scheduled an appointment for several days later; while he was here discussed the project in detail and provided an estimate; and undertook and completed the project the next day. As we have slowly updated our house, my husband and I have been extremely lucky to have been able to deal with people like Mr. Stillwell

  • Jackson & Jackson Inc.

Arthur Jackson was easy to reach and communicate with. He was timely with his quote, stayed on time with the work and completed everything in good order. He even handled the repairs that were needed after a storm flooded the basement.

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
