  • Harco Fence and Deck, LLC
We LOVE our fence from Harco! From the estimate to the correspondence with the office to the completion of our fence, we had a great experience. It was a pleasure to work with Harco, and we would highly recommend them!

  • Royal Fence & Design LLC
Very professional and quickly responsive. Jamie was super helpful when working out the actual design of our fence. Jamie and Jay both answered all of my questions as I had no idea about the process. The construction team did an amazing job and put in a 12+ hour day tearing down our old fence and constructing our new one. All of our neighbors have complemented our finished wood fence and the work ethic of the team

  • Mr. Handyman or Olathe, Gardner
Needed section of fence/post repaired/replaced. Other fence companies I requested quotes from wouldn't take small job due to staffing or else didn't carry insurance, etc. Mr. Handyman of Olathe got me booked within a couple weeks. Chris was great, knowledgeable, friendly, on-time prepared and did excellent work. He dug out the old post and set new one on day 1, then reattached fence later on day 2. Final cost was less than originally quoted and just under another quote I received. I would definitely hire them again for any job, especially if I knew Chris would be doing the work

  • AA Construction & Remodeling L.L.C.
Wayne Bridges and his team did an outstanding job. He has painted my house, installed a security system, and did landscaping and lawn work for me. He is totally honest and fair. His bids are reasonable and within market. He always does more than contracted for and always leaves your home better than it was before. I will definitely hire him again and strongly recommend him for general remodeling and construction work

Very well. Fence was installed in one day. They still need to come back and install the gate. It just came in yesterday so I will text John to set up a time to do it.

  • Above n Beyond Construction
It went great. Mr. Sanders, the owner, is very reliable and honest as well as a professional that does a complete job. I would definitely use this company again.
  • Coop Fence and Construction LLC
We requested an estimate and Sean arrived to do it within a reasonable number of days. We described the work to be done and specified that the concrete in the post holes had to come up to the soil surface because the area tends to be wet. Sean said they usually put soil over the concrete so that grass can grow near the posts, but noted our request. There was a scheduling delay due to weather, and then one day we came home from shopping to find the crew well along with the job. They removed the old fence, re-used 4 existing posts, and set 3 new posts. We thought it looked OK at a quick glance. The next day, when I was clearing off old vegetation from the garden near the fence, I found 3 piles of debris in the garden from the excavation of the post holes. I also noted that the new concrete had been covered by 7 or 8 inches of soil. It took several e-mails and phone calls, but we did get the crew to return in a few days to add concrete to the top of the post holes and to remove the concrete chunks and clay subsoil I had picked up from the garden. They were apologetic, and the fence looks good

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
