"The worst experience of our life. The Attorney General's office has filed charges July 2018 as well. Here is the full story: He is also now going by Mark Mason, Indiana Custom Builders and a different phone number starting with 317-910- Mark Sellers Nov 2 at 10:27 AM Contractor Mark Sellers (((REDACTED))) Noblesville, IN 46060 Drives a Beige Silverado . Gave him deposit for 1870 on 11/2/17 and he agreed to complete home structure work BEFORE Thanksgiving. As of 12/9 he has stood us up 17 times, taken additional funds when I was out of town by lying to my husband and continued to create more damage to our hours. We only hired him because a different contractor working here told us how great he was and had NO idea he was a scammer. He started to pour a fake lintel that leaked concrete all over our crawl space and was not a real lintel. He then said he was going to lift the house which he never did. Very glad he didn’t as the house would have sustained even more extensive damage since his lintel was fake and you never pour a lintel before lifting a house. [continued below].... Report Attachments: ..... He dug a hole to dig out the old footer but did NOT replace the footer OR the failed corner of the foundation. All evidenced in the crawl space. There is concrete that has leaked all over the crawl space and is not a footer or a lintel. Instead when I started calling incessantly because he never answers his phone and started texting because they dug a hole out front and left it for weeks without any safety tape, etc. he came out and poured 2 small bags of instant set concrete and filled in the hole. He cut out our front step and left the hole and the dangerous setting over the holiday (Thanksgiving). We had an injury going through our Homeowners Ins as it appears he doesn’t have insurance (although he said he did). Even though he was supposed to be done. He had his employees come over stand around, talk and smoke and do nothing to give an appearance of being here. Work never moved forward. While I was out of town on 11/11 after his ONE employee (the only one that did any work) dug the 3-ft deep hole (not deep enough to fix the issue), he told my husband he poured the footers (although they weren’t done) took another 900 and ran off for the weekend. No call, no show, no response. He only answered my texts when I became angry. Then he acted like it was my issue that he took $3k and has done nothing??? The job should be pretty much done by that point and its not. His Quote was BS as he has done NONE of this and our house is still shifting and he has almost $3000 of our dollars. He has similar complaints and a lot of them in Colorado (Longmont/Boulder court), Ohio BBB and now Indiana. Our local Nextdoor online group is blowing up with all the similar situations. Takes the money, doesn’t finish, doesn’t answer his phone and acts like you have no reason to be angry. How do we stop people like him from doing this? We now have another 9k to pay due the house he has destroyed? He poured a FAKE cosmetic lintel that leaked concrete all over the crawl space and is doing absolutely nothing to help with the repair of the house. Caused additional damage to repair to the front step and will now cost additional to fix the bricks on the front of the house that we have not priced out. He said he was trying to do us a favor. The only favor he did was by not lifting the house after he did the additional damage because it would have been even worse. You do not pour a lintel first and then lift the house. NO company would ever do this. Pictures clearly show this shoddy work and NON repair job that he is holding $3k of our money for NOT doing. I NEVER asked for a favor and if this is a favor I’d hate to see what he does when it’s NOT a favor? So these people must also be people he did favors for because we just really didn’t need our hard earned cash and he did? 49K03-1711-SC-006145 (Tim Slabaugh vs Mark Sellers) 29D05-1708-SC-007912 (Young, Jamar vs Mark Sellers) 06D02-1706-SC-000434 (Combs vs Mark Sellers) 29D05-1703-SC-002991 (See vs Mark Sellers) 29D06-1608-CC-006767 (Orahood vs Mark Sellers) 49K07-1410-SC-005458 (Rider vs Mark Sellers) He has done this in Colorado, Ohio and now Indiana (except Indiana continues to let him rack up thousands and damage homes without any recourse). Since he’s a turnip (can’t get blood out of one those.. he just skates on by because he can’t pay anyone back). If he’s going to damage homes, not do the work and not refund then how about we put him in jail so he’s at least off the street? Same deceptive practices in CO: [*** Link removed ***] dailycamera.com/ ci_15230200 (He did lose the case and owes thousands to CO residents) [*** Link removed ***] - This is the copy of the actual judgement against Mark OHIO BBB Issues: Same deceptive practice. We are a veteran-owned and operated company, specializing in installing new fences. Our mission is to provide an exceptional customer experience and the highest quality fence.

"Awful. At first I was very hopeful because they seemed extremely nice and competent. I have been fighting with them on issues with my fence since Feb 2022. They left 8ft gaps in certain areas under our fence. Due to this one of our pups was bit by another dog and we had to take him to the emergency vet. They fixed this at my cost of longer pickets. They did not account for the swell in my yard and said they would not fix with out me paying. So, I did because the purpose of a privacy fence for us is safety and privacy. They did a poor job on our gate which we have a hard time to open now and they are refusing to fix the gate because they said they rebuilt it several times. They rebuilt it once because they again did not account for the swing of the ground so they told me they had to inset the gate and have it swing inward. They left the gate unframed and I had to have them come back out and fix this because it looked unfinished and you could stick your arm into my fence. They did not use water when setting the cement for the posts. They were expecting the water from the ground to set it. That did not happen because it was the middle of winter and all of our posts were loose. They had to come out and fix this. Originally the gate had a slim gap, but they affixed the gate to a sagging post. So, when they came out to upright the post we were left with a gaping hole I could stick my arm through. So if someone wanted they could unlock the gate from the inside. I had to contact the attorney generals office which was no help. I submitted all pictures I've had from the beginning and all the emails. They sent back a response making me out to be a liar and a horrible person. They also said that if I wanted them to fix my fence I would have to pay a $250 fee for repair. Which I will not pay them another penny. Mind you I went out and bought the workers food and provided drinks while they completed the job. During one of the repairs, the workers mentioned having to cancel on someone waiting on them because the repair at my house took longer and if they went to the next repair they wouldn't make it to golf on time. This is incredibly unprofessional and people take off of work for this kind of stuff. When they refused to come out to fix the gate I said I would have to make a complaint, they said good luck and hung up on me. They are a horrible business and I would not recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately I learned my lesson the hard way with this company and would hate for this to happen to anyone else because it has been a nightmare. I will not allow them back onto my property."

Concrete repairs FAQs

When you’re hiring a concrete contractor, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective concrete contractor:

  • Do you use stone or sand for base material?

  • How thick do you usually pour concrete?

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • Do you have worker’s compensation?

  • How long have you worked with your subcontractors?

  • How do you handle garbage and waste disposal?

  • Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • Do you give free estimates?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • Can you provide at least three references?

  • Can I see some of the work you’ve done in photos and the actual project?

Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.

Yes, concrete contractors should be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed concrete contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. States have different requirements for concrete contractor licensing, so be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.

Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
