  • Moore & Sons Roofing
I had Ice Dams on the roof. Other roofers were busy, as well as Moore and Sons. Ed personally moved a crew over to my house and addressed the ice dams which were causing major leaks. The crew worked proficiently and quickly to eliminate as many of the Ice Dam problems that were possible. I got no sales talk about a new roof or special deals that other companies were trying to push. When I asked about a new roof estinate, Ed advised he would rather wait until we had a handle on the current situation, and then sit down and talk about a new roof and installtion times. A very reasonable reply instead of a "got to commit now for a special price" sales deal that other well known roofing companies tried to push over the phone without even caring about my current situations. Ed Moore and sons gets a A +++ in my book

  • Moore & Sons Roofing
We would recommend Moore and Son's Roofing. We had 5 roofing companies out to look at our roof/damage and Moore and Sons was the only one that suggested fixing our roofing issue so we don't have more damage and not just sell us new shingles. It cost a bit more to add all the extra insulation and ice and water shield but it was correcting the problem and not just covering it up. Crews where very professional and clean. They are extremely busy so get on their schedule as soon as you can. We had to wait almost 2 months from contract to new roof but it was worth the wait. I would say they are one of the best in west Michigan

I phoned them regarding snow removal and they were in my neighborhood already, so they came the same day. I was very impressed with their work, and that they followed all my instructions perfectly. I was very satisfied with their service and will definitely phone them again when roof work is needed.

  • Above Roofing Inc
Noticed a water stain on the second story ceiling so called around to 5 roofing companies in GR to find someone to come out and resolve it. 3 of 5 were not taking any business (very bad winter in GR this year). One had a week-long wait time. But Above was able to be out in just 2 business days. The crew of two arrived at 8 and loaded ladders to the house and chiseled off the snow and ice for about an hour. There was some confusion about the proper location for their work on the roof. I had to show them several times where we needed the work done. But the crew was friendly and helpful. I am impressed that Above is big enough and efficient enough to get crews out during such a bad winter. It gives me confidence that they would be able to follow-through and deliver on another project if we should need them in the future

I worked with Jerry DeVries and found him to be ethical and professional. He has a background in commercial roofing and that seemed to give him an edge. Of four contractors who bid the job, Jerry and one other asked to go into the attic to check the venting. We have always had large icicles on the front of the house, and Jerry offered the best and most comprehensive plan to fix that issue. I waited until now to review Above Roofing in order to determine if the "fix" worked. It has. We haven't had a since ice dam or icicle. Above Roofing isn't cheap, but they do great work. Also, Above doesn't have it's own workers; they use subcontractors. Jerry said they have three subs they use exclusively

Was punctual and polite. Much needed to keep the roof from winter damage due to harsh winter last year! Its a really good idea and I will schedule it again this year due to predictions of another harsh winter.

  • All Gutter Systems
The three-man crew arrived promptly, they were polite, they worked quickly, shoveled entire roof, tried to remove as much ice as possible & cut vertical channels (with an axe) in ice that wouldn't budge without ripping off shingles too. Then they liberally sprinkled ice melter all over roof. I was able to climb a hill behind my house & watch the work. There was ponded water three inches deep behind the ice dams. Much of that water was already working its way under the shingles, so it's unrealistic to expect the interior leaks to stop immediately. But within a few hours they did stop and my roof seemed to be draining well. They charged $100 per manhour ($450 for 1 1/2 hours x 3 workers) & well worth it. They let me put it on my credit card. Truck is newer, well-equipped with roof equipment and well-marked

Great! They completely removed the ice jams from the back of the house, and cut channels into the ice jams along the side of the house. There was a small misunderstanding at first, but they came out quickly after clarification of what I wanted done and completed the job. I would use them again.

  • Mid Michigan Lawn Enforcement
They came out and took what was 3 acres of overgrown mess that hadn't been mowed since early last year and left it looking like a golf course! I was absolutely amazed, they spent the entire day and when I offered to pay them more than their rate, they told me "No Thanks" and to "pay it forward" !!! I was in shock! Great guys and wonderful demeanor's

When I first contacted Dwight via email through Angieslist, he replied back the same day with a time he would contact me to discuss the work - he provided a time he would call. After our initial call I was a little concerned as I felt rushed and was interrupted several times when trying to explain the issue. I know people are busy and figured he would just see for himself when he arrived - I wanted to make sure he was able to do the work before I wasted my time driving to the house. Dwight arrived on time and reviewed the issue. He was clearly knowledgeable and didn't seem to try to sell me work that wasn't required. He inspected the area, provided his opinion and told me I can expect a quote in a few days. We also discussed other work I wanted to have done in the upcoming months and he gave me an hourly fee which changed from $55/hour to $65/hour in 2 sentences. 4 days later I receive the following email: Hi Michael, I just wanted to let you know that I am not going to be able to help you at this time. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for interest. Dwight Jacobsen President, Jacobsen Remodeling Inc
