Oren, our contractor with SOD Home Group, proved that house construction projects don’t have to be a nightmare but can be a pleasure if you find the right person to take you through it. Our old house seriously needed a remodel, and I didn’t have any personal preferences for any contractor; I lucked out when Oren came to interview. I liked Oren’s friendly, straightforward manner, devoid of slickness or hard sell, and his experience in construction was obvious as he walked me through the process. Oren spent time in the planning stage to find out what I wanted and discussed ideas that would work with the space. This is important: he is not the designer, he is the builder and will tell you what is structurally possible. Once a plan is agreed upon, his designer Eden put everything in several designs and after this stage is approved… then the crew do the work but i selected the fixtures, tile, paint color, etc. Oren had many useful resources to help, but I had a great idea of what I wanted needed. On the business end, once I committed to the job, the contract was clear, covering a schedule of payments and stages. Oren kept me up to date with what he needed from my end and when the crew was going to show up, etc..; all the teams came on time and work diligently. What a great combination: an experienced contractor with talented people skills who wants me to be happy with the job and makes it pleasant and easy! He’s been there for my every question and issue and gets back to me right away. I’m impressed by Oren’s team, all very professional people who do excellent, clean work while treating the area with respect; there’s not one guy working in my house that I wouldn’t have back (we are all working from home because of the pandemic). I’m impressed by the beautiful work that is being done and how creative and collaborative this team is. So summarizing: I found an honest, personable, skilled contractor backed by a wonderful team of professionals who are doing what they promised. No games here. - Ceasar Briones ConstructionWhen I discovered that I had a major problem with my house and that it was in jeopardy of collapsing, I had to act quickly to get temporary shoring in place and also get a structural engineer and architect on board to get the designs moving. I met Ceaser Briones, of Briones Construction, and walked him through the requirement to shore up the ceiling to prevent the house from collapsing. Briones Construction jumped in and went to work immediately and helped me save my house. They didn't take advantage of my situation by trying to overcharge me. I know because I build facilities and maintain them for a living, and know how much it should cost to do the work. Once all of the shoring was in place, we focused on the structural and architectural designs to make the necessary structural repairs and to remodel the house. Briones Construction was instrumental in helping the architect and structural engineer with field measurements and confirming as-built conditions. Once the designs were finished and permits pulled, Briones Construction didn't hesitate a moment to get started with the work. They coordinated every aspect of the job, including moving my furniture, fencing the site, bringing in a roll off trash bin, etc. They knew what they were doing and were very professional. Briones Construction's work was meticulous and every detail was addressed. Their quality was outstanding in every respect

He said the time frame would be 3 weeks and it turned out to be less than 2 weeks.The materials were delivered and the following day his crew was here at 7:30 AM. They completed the job around 2:30 that afternoon. There was no mess, the 2 man crew was very efficient and used their expertise to make some changes that improved the overall symmetry. They said they had been doing this for many years and between the two of them, each knew what had to be done and did it. We are extremely happy with the end results and now considering a patio cover in the front yard to be built by Sunset Patio and Awning. "We got quotes from a few other contractors and all were pretty much in the same price range. Our neighbors up the street went with RFMC a couple years ago and were very satisfied with the results. Their patio turned out beautiful and I'm happy to say ours did too. The office staff are friendly and the construction crew were professional and courteous. "Disappointed with service I received after reading previous reviews. My experience with Mr Fix It was unprofessional, disrespectful of my time, and overpriced. After showing the owner everything I wanted done (>10 different things), I received an estimate via email from office staff. I didn't realize it at the time but the total quoted for all the work at the bottom did not add up to what the individual pieces were - it was lower by hundreds of dollars. It's simple math folks, the customer should not have any worry you can't quote things right. I decided NOT to do some of the items on my list. When I requested to only do part of the work, I was sent a new estimate via email. The total DID NOT CHANGE. And it was wrong again! This is when I noticed the problem. A little aggravated I asked them to complete 1 item quickly that I needed fixed before family visited. They scheduled to arrive between 830-900am on a weekday. I rearranged my work schedule to meet them there. I get a call at 815 from the owner saying he'll call me when he's coming (I had assumed the call was that he WAS coming). Fast forward to 915am, I call him back and he said he "didn't expect to be so tied up" (but I was supposed to be the first appointment) and he'll be at my house at "about 10". At this point I had already missed a meeting at work and would miss another. We rescheduled to 130pm the same day. I called at 115pm to check and he said he'll call me when he is coming. Finally at 145pm he calls that he's 15 minutes away. I arrange to go home at 2pm. At which time I get a call from the guy who is actually going to do the work (to my surprise it wasn't who I had been talking to all day) that he was another 15 minutes away. The work itself took 30 minutes, simple remove and replace the inner working of toilet. I was charged $55 for parts (same product in stores for $20-25) and $95 for labor. Grossly overpriced. No issue with the quality of the work itself, just the entire experience was sub par. It seemed like they affected my entire day to do something extremely simple.

"After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered.

"They were good. They were a little slow to get it finished but they got it done. They charged me for just what the materials cost plus a little bit more. I thought they are very reasonable. It was very long and very wide and a lot of materials and labor were involved. They were efficient and they knew what they were doing. They have a lot of experiences. They do mostly mobile homes but they do homes as well. They are in the awning business so mobile homes are their specialty. I got the top of the line awning. I did not go for the ones that I could have gotten in about half price. I think I could have gotten them for about under $4000. I like the higher quality. That was where I went. He gave me a really good deal. I feel he worked with me on it. I would recommend them.
