I searched Angie’s List for a lawn care company to maintain my lawn. Independence Landscape and Lawn Care had very good reviews so I gave them a call for an estimate to provide fertilizing and weed control. When Mark Haller called I explained the condition of my lawn and he scheduled a visit for the same day. I also asked him to provide a price to completely re-sod my lawn along with some minor grading work. I received the estimate the next day and was pleased that the price to redo the entire lawn was quite reasonable. I reviewed a few details with Mark and agreed to have the work done. Due to the weather conditions, my job was scheduled for 6 weeks out but it was worth the wait. The crew did a fantastic job and I am extremely pleased with the results. From the first conversation I had with Rick Elliott to Thomas Bailey and his crew finishing the job I have been beyond impressed with Green Future! During the planning phases of my backyard project Rick was extremely flexible and helped us come up with a great plan to make my yard look great. He gave us plenty of options and helped us choose the best one based on our budget. The morning the project started Thomas walked me and my wife through every step and really helped us visualize the end product. He made a ton of recommendations to make the property not only look better but be even more functional. The work that Manurl, Miguel, and Jose did was outstanding! They exceeded or expectations even after talking to Thomas. Even more impressive is the little things thru would do just to improve my yard like cutting vines off my fence and trees, and cleaning up debris around the property that they didn't even make. These folks are top-notch. My yard was a bit of a mess after a patio project that left mounds of dirt by the tree line in the backyard. Also, the yard runs wet anyway with a natural creek that runs through the property. JD, the owner, came out to estimate what re-grading the yard would cost so that the water could be diverted away from the house. He was thorough, professional, down to earth and honest. The bid was reasonably priced and I appreciated having options: he gave me various estimates for less versus more work. Ultimately, I decided to do everything at once so that I could put any potential drainage issues to rest. The team came out as scheduled and they handled it all very well and efficiently. They definitely knew what they were doing and they instilled me with confidence from the start. The project took a day and a morning, and my yard is now BEAUTIFUL. I am so glad the boys can play in what was a mud pit. And now we all can appreciate the landscape without having to worry about water being where it's not supposed to be. Jose is a very personable and talented landscaper. He responded immediately to my request for a quote and provided it the same day. Our yard was a mess as expected after replacing a septic drain field, so it needed topsoil, grading to restore water flow in the proper direction, and a new lawn. Jose and his team have obviously done this before and expertly restored our yard to it's original condition in about a day and a half. The 5,000 sq ft of sod installed blends in perfectly with the rest of the lawn and the 5,000+ sq ft seeded area is filling in great. Jose loves his work, does it extremely well, and truly enjoys helping people. I would recommend him to anyone and only regret that I didn't find him soonershow more

I chose not to have work done for financial reasons, but I wanted to pass along a few notes on why I was really impressed with Independence Landscaping. First, I submitted three requests for proposal on a Saturday, not expecting to hear back from any of the three until mid-week. Independence was incredibly responsive and contacted me almost immediately. I am a little impatient so this was extremely impressive to me. Second, Chad came out and could not have been more punctual. He was quick and to the point when measuring and examining the lawn (and tree/shade and sun coverage), but very thorough. Chad wrote a proposal on the spot and went over every cost item line-by-line. The only up sell was for a lawn-care plan (fertilizer, etc.) which is to be expected. In this case, I think it is warranted - and - he was not pushy; he encouraged the purchase once and that was it. Bottom line: I chose not to have the work done this time around but Independence Landscaping will ALWAYS be at the top of the list when I am looking for landscaping servicesshow more

Bright Construction did a superb job on my back yard. They went above my expectations by executing my dreams into reality. I worked with their designer that constructed my backyard beautifully and help to set systems to prevent further water damage to my property. The construction crew was superb. From the start, Jose was responsive, punctual, and knowledgeable. With all the rain we've been having in NoVa recently, I've been having water issues in my finished basement. Jose, and a number of other landscapers came out to assess the grading of my front lawn. He came up with a plan, which I asked to scale back, and executed it within three days of agreeing to do the work. Jose took time to explain what he was doing and why and quoted a reasonable price (especially compared to other companies). Co. did great & made short work of the project. Finished in ~ half a day. Two men working, with rented Bobcat. I asked about additional work, and apparently they got busy with other projects, and didn't respond to emails & phone calls for a couple of weeks. I recently had a pine tree removed on the side of my townhouse and originally the tree company did not do a good job with the clean-up after grinding the stump and surface roots. After searching Angi's, I reached out to several companies to haul the remaining debris, regrade, and provide a landscape design for installation and all the other companies followed up but HL Design. Catherine was plesant to talk to when scheduling the appointment. David came out to meet with me (10/6) and assess the area. He provided me with some helpful information and explained what could be done to clean-up the mess left behind and prepare the area for a flower bed; however, it is 10/16 and there has been no follow-up.
