Gravel Delivery Company Reviews Near Me

Mulch And Stone L.L.C.
I had an excellent experience with Mulch and Stone! Quality products, wonderful service, free delivery! I had a major DIY project creating a gravel patio and walkways this spring. I needed two different types of gravel, and was worried about the amount to order (cubic yards vs tons) and called to speak with the representative at Mulch and Stone. She reassured me regarding the volume to order and scheduled the deliveries on 2 separate days to make it easier for me. I called to reschedule the delivery, which they accommodated with no problem. I would definitely use them again.

Mulch And Stone L.L.C.
The driver called about 20 minutes before arriving so that I could make sure I had my tarp laid out in my driveway ready for the delivery. When the driver arrived, he backed up to my side yard and dumped the stone exactly where I needed it. Very polite and professional. Also, there prices are the cheapest around, and the stone was great quality. I will be doing business with Mulch and Stone in the future.

Rock, Stone & Sand Yard, Inc.
The personnel at Rock Stone and Sandyard were receptive, answered all my questions, took time with me, didn't rush me into a purchase, suggested I go home to measure the area to confirm how much supply I needed, and were very helpful. Rock Stone and Sandyard made the delivery the next day on time and cleaned their vehicle to prevent any rock from damaging any vehicles traveling behind them.

I ordered river rock stones, which was delivered mixed with soil. I sent pictures (attached here) to the company, asking for replacement or partial compensation. My claim was denied and ignored. When I received a marketing email from Jeff (the owner) 2 days ago I asked him to take my email off their mailing list. He sent an mail to his IT person: "remove this jerk from the mailing list". I could not open a dispute with my credit card company because the product could not be returned.

Black Rock Stone Company
Over the years I have hired Roger at Black Rock Stone Company for multiple patio's at different houses I have owned, a front walkway, a stone fireplace and a stone bar. Roger does "excellent" work; price is very fair - not the cheapest - not the most expensive. I have and will continue to refer customers to Black Rock and Roger is my go to for any stone or flagstone work. Jim Foley - North Potomac

MA Cleaning & Landscaping Design Inc
It went very well, they did an excellent job . I had a lot of old wood and old rocks under the deck, which had to be remove and disposed. They put small white sand rocks, under the deck, which gave it a clean look. The rocks were also put on the side of the basement steps. I have never seen the yard so clean and organized.

We are so pleased with the quality of work and professionalism, we hired the company for our yearly mowing, and yard maintenance. The owner is fast to respond, quick to start project, very accommodating, and keeps up with the expectations. I strongly recommend the company without any reservation.

Classic Stonescaping & Gardens LLC
First, if you call anyone, you need to call this company. We've recommended them to two or three others already. They price their work well. They do an excellent job. The crew is very knowledgeable and easy to work with on details as the project proceeds. And, most importantly, they do a great job! We asked Jeff for a bid in later winter. Yes, still snow on the ground. We talked and walked through our ideas and came up with a plan for him to bid on. We went through some detailed conversations with Jeff (the owner) and came up with a final price and the whole process was not just about price but about the type of materials and the look and feel of the final product. He has some very good suggestions that we incorporated into the final design. We scheduled work in early but were able to have him start the day after Memorial Day. His crew came in like a swarm of purposeful bees. Everyone had a specific task and everyone got to work very quickly. They moved quickly and efficiently. The first was to remove the old concrete pad which was harder than anticipated but it too went very quickly. By the end of the day the stepping stones were laid, the paver base set and the next day started with the team putting down the pavers. The paver patio was 90% complete the second day and they spent about a half day on the third day wrapping up the final items. We had to make some small adjustments along the way and Jeff and his team were creative with solutions and took the time to consider options and listen to us. Friends have seen the work and everyone loves the look. We do as well. It is a great final product and it was a very good experience from the start.

Mottern Masonry Design
Jeff Mottern provided excellent advice and a beautiful design. Workers showed up as scheduled, did a great job quickly, and were very courteous. They even managed to avoid damaging plants around the walkway.

Classic Stonescaping & Gardens LLC
Classic Stonescaping totally reformed the yard of the townehome we recently purchased. It was overgrown in some places, barren in others. The concrete patio was cracked and uneven. Jeff came and drew up a creative plan that kept us within our budget, but gave us the most beautiful yard on the block, along with a perfect field stone patio. His crew was on time, friendly, and truly good at what they do! Our neighbors come to tell us how lovely it is, and we love to spend out time relaxing in the beautiful oasis created for us by Classic Stonescaping!

Xtra Care Landscaping & Design INC
The workmanship was excellent, and the new stone facade retaining wall looks very nice indeed! The stone facade was effectively equivalent of a 4" stone wall on the face of the concrete cinderblock and required the same degree of craftmanship that a fully mortared stone retaining wall would have needed in terms of cutting and fitting each stone. It is a pleasure to see such craftsmanship on display. Retaining walls do need to stand the test of time to prove themselves and while it is still early days we do feel very good about what was put in place by XtraCare. XtraCare also did not nickle-and-dime us which was very refreshing and pleasant experience overall. We definitely intend to have them in our shortlist for any landscaping project we undertake in the future.

A1 Exclusive LLC
Just a friendly heads up NOT to hire this "stone specialist"... Mariano Lopez of A1 Exclusive LLC in Falls Church. A friend referred him with the warning, "he does great work but is horrible with deadlines." Well, that was an understatement. We laid out our expectations and he assured us he was on top of it. But he only came by about once a week for a few hours the first month. Then on nice days, he'd be missing even though he said he'd be here. No communication. And then he'd show up on crappy days but only for a short time "because of the weather." Duh. It went on and on, and he would change parts of the job he said he'd do, offer to do things and then lie, constantly want to talk for "2 mins" but would ramble on and then argue for 30, and would not deal with any questions about discrepancies or concerns. He actually told me to stop talking, that "it's in the past, we're not talking about that now." And kept telling us we needed to be more flexible, when he had already busted 2 deadlines and nearly didn't make today's 3rd one. Unbelievable. We just got into a yelling match because he denied saying he'd bring pins for the landscape fabric. So dumb. Now I have about 3000 rocks I have to move when I go to Home Depot and buy the pins myself. His stone work does look nice, and his price was very good, but nothing is worth the amount of stress and time wasted in dealing with this guy.

Flagstone And Brick Works
Great. Flagstone patio looks terrific. Work was done on time and high quality. Workers were very nice and polite. Price was better than two other estimates. Clean-up was good, but not perfect; some dust, small rocks, were not picked up, not a big deal. Definitely would hire again or recommend.

Meadows Farms Landscaping
Scheduling was difficult and I was unaware that the company would not set an instal date until after they reached be again by phone. This was after signing the contract and they had charge the deposit on my credit card. On the day of install, the crew didn't seem very informed and my husband had to give them instruction on what to do. The placement of the sod was poor and looked bad and I am not sure that all of the product was used that we purchased. When I called to complain, they agreed to come back out and replace the sod within two weeks. There were also scheduling problems here and they didn't show the date that they said they would. Again, my husband had to explain what to do. The fixes that they did made looked good and everything look much better, and they said the retaining was wasn't quite correct so they rebuilt that. Overall, each person in the company seemed to blame someone else for the probelms with the work or scheduling. In the end, things seem to look and be holding up well, but I don't have the most confidence in the company.

Mr. Huy Nguyen communicated with me promptly about the job I wanted done. He was personable and easy to talk to. The rock garden he installed surpassed our expectations. We absolutely love it. I would definitely him again for another project. Highly recommended.

Merrifield Garden Center - Merrifield
Half of estimated expense of $8000 was paid upon signatures on contract. Work was to commence in May 2015. Despite repeated promises by landscape designer, no schematic of work to be performed was provided. Workers arrived and removed old plants and planted new. River rock drainage installed but without digging down so that river rock would be at same level as the lawn. Stepping stones were not properly installed so they were not level or stable. No landscaping fabric was installed prior to spending river rock. Plantings in front were choice of designer and not coordinated with me, the customer. I communicated five times with the landscape designer and agreed on three separate occasions for her to meet with me at the house to go over the non-existent design, plantings, and river rock drainage. The designer failed to keep any of the meetings. Finally, in late June, I went to Merrifield's main offices and, by luck, was able to meet with the owner. I brought pictures of the landscaping and provided her with e-mails of the numerous exchanges with the designer. The owner was mortified. She promised a follow-up contact with her lead landscape architect within 48 hours. Twenty-four hours later the landscape architect and his "chief trouble-shooter" were at our door. They advised that the previous designer/architect had been released and that we should henceforth work with the "trouble-shooter." They agreed that the plantings provided no "bones" for the landscape, that the river rock and stepping stones had been improperly installed, and that there should have been an agreed schematic of the work to be done before it was commenced. At the direction of the "trouble-shooter," all of the new plantings were removed; the river rock was removed, and the drainage area was dug down and landscaping fabric installed before the river rock was re-installed. Some days later, after diagrams and a work order were provided and agreed, new plantings were installed. Since then, the trouble-shooter has returned three times to look at the health of the plants and make replacements for plants that were not tolerating the conditions (full-sun, poor drainage, etc.) The experience with the first designer was a disaster. With the trouble-shooter, we received the professionalism and attention we thought we would get from Merrifield from the beginning. So, my evaluation is necessarily two-fold: a wholly failed grade for the initial experience and initial project; an "excellent" grade for the do-over with the trouble-shooter and her team.
