"My fence fell down due to the high wind on 12/19/2025. I was lucky to find Jeff on Angi. Jeff replaced my old fence with a beautiful wooden one. He is a professional in his work. I am sure I will have him do more work for me."

"Alex was efficient, professional and friendly and arrived as soon as he could get here. We were having sewer trouble and he stayed to see that the problem was fixed and we were no longer having problems with the sewer, even though it was after dark before he packed up his tools. We would definitely recommend Cothren Plumbing and Construction for any of your construction or plumbing needs."

"Tyler waterproofed and insulated my basement walls, framed and installed tongue and groove planks on my basement family room, bedroom and bathroom. The detail and fit and finish right down to custom made crown molding and access panels to water valves seamlessly built into the woodwork was top notch craftsmanship. He also installed a custom built walk-in shower and mosaic tile door that is beautiful. I canâ t say enough or recommend someone more enthusiastically than I do Tyler. He is there when he says heâ ll be there and the level of craftsmanship and professionalism is unsurpassed. The price is more than fair and I often felt as if I was underpaying him and asking him to add on any extra services (like unforeseen plumbing) to ensure he was paid adequately."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The diverter valve in your bathtub is responsible for diverting water between your tub spout and your shower head. If water comes out of both at the same time, you have a faulty diverter valve. You can have a plumber replace this for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have some experience working with plumbing fixtures.

While Medicare will pay for some bathroom modifications, it won’t pay for all modifications done to help make the room more accessible for older adults. Plus, the improvements must be approved in advance, or they won’t cover the upgrade. Check well in advance of construction if you have coverage for grab bars, walk-in tubs, wider doorways, higher toilets, and more.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

DIY installation of a walk-in tub is not recommended as it is a challenging and risky project that requires advanced plumbing knowledge. Professional installation is crucial to ensure a proper and safe setup, water-tight conditions, adherence to local building codes, and the preservation of your product's warranty.
