"We recently had 4 windows replaced including one large picture window. The office staff was always kind and informative. We were extremely impressed with the workers who did the removal and install of our windows. Friendly and courteous. The quality of our new windows is incredible and we are so pleased. Our house is now quieter and our view from the picture window is fantastic."

"I had an issue with my computer where it was opening lots of pop ups, ad bars, and windows with ads for games. I had tried several different programs to try to remove it with no luck. I finally decided to call North Alabama Technical Service to see if I he could help. I was expecting to set up a time for him to look at it but he connected to my computer immediately and within an hour had it fixed and running perfect again. Great service at a great price and I didn't even have to disconnect it and carry it somewhere! Would call again if I have another issue I can't resolve myself."
"Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."

"I have a home warranty on my 12year old home as it was included by the seller as part of the deal. It is the "FlexCombo" plan or something like that. I'm not typically a fan of 3rd party warranties and service contracts, I've had my fair share of bad experiences. This was my first time using AHS and so far, so good. They Met or exceeded my expectations for timeliness, prices, ease of contact. The A/C stopped cooling on Thursday so I called Friday and was able to navigate through an automated system relatively easily and the system told me the plumbing provider it was going to dispatch on Monday, reminded me of certain fee caveats, gave me a 4-hour service window and a confirmation number. I never spoke to a person and usually hate automated systems, but it understood me and navigated me easily enough. I also logged online, but was less than impressed with their website, but I was emailed a reminder. The provider came during the window and was professional and knowledgeable and had me up and running in about 20-30 min. with no attempt to deceive or upsell. If every experience is like this one, I will think twice and consider keeping this contract. "

Replacing basement windows can be worth the cost if replacement is necessary. If your windows are leaking and leading to water damage in your basement, it’s absolutely worth replacing them. Similarly, if your basement windows are no longer insulating your basement or pose a security risk, you need to replace them.
In some cases, you may be able to save money by repairing a window instead of replacing it. A contractor can help you decide the right course of action.
The average lifespan for a casement window is around 20 years, but some higher-end casement windows with more durable frame materials can last up to around 40 years before you need to replace them. You’ll need to carry out routine maintenance and window cleaning—and, on occasion, casement window restoration—to extend the lifespan of your casement windows. But they tend to wear more slowly than windows with sliding sashes because the weatherstripping sees minimal friction.
The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.
In short, it depends. After 20 years, the glass in your windows is less energy efficient, which can cause increased electricity bills. You might also see signs of water damage or natural wear and tear over the years. However, with proper maintenance, some window frames can last up to 50 years, so you may only need to replace the glass to save on energy.
At the same time, window replacement is a major investment, so replacing the glass in rooms most impacted by outdoor temperatures is one way to avoid going all-in to replace your windows.
Storm windows are well worth the cost, especially if you live in an area that experiences extreme weather, like hurricanes, a lot of snowfall, or high winds. These windows not only help keep you and your home safe during a storm, but they can also save you thousands in storm and window damage costs.
